We arrived at BCV Sunday, 8/10 at 10:00 am, checked in, and drove immediately (w/o going up to our room (#528 - studio (lock off) (which was ready, by the way)) to the GF for our character breakfast at 1900 Park Fare. Great food and great character interaction. We had 11:10 PS and loved not having to worry we were taking too long to eat because they were not seating anyone after us. Great way to start the vacation!!!
We then took the monorail to the Contemporary, then the boat to FW. Spent a few hours at the petting zoo, then headed back to GF the same way we arrived. The kids really liked riding on the monorail and boat, and the petting zoo was very nice, also. We had some drinks and sat on the porch of whatever restaurant was there (can't remember the name) and rocked in the rocking chairs for a bit. It was a nice way to spend the afternoon.
We got back to our room and noticed it was handicapped accessible. We didn't think it would be a problem so we unpacked. The balcony was larger then the standard ones, and I swear the room was a bit bigger also. We headed for SAB and spent the rest of the afternoon swimming.
When we got back and were going to shower, etc. we decided that not having a tub was a royal pain with the kids. Plus, there is NO counter space for the bathroom sink (which is located IN the bathroom, rather than outside). So I called and they said they could move us in the morning, but nothing was availble that night.
We went to the Boardwalk, ate at ESPN Club (LOVED it) and strolled around there a while. We were heading to Epcot the next morning so we packed up what we could that night. In the morning we called Bell Services to get our bags to put them in storage until we arrived back that night. The only downside was that we had (wanted) to tip them AGAIN so that move cost us 40.00! (We have lots of bags and tipped the guy that loaded them, then the one that unloaded them that night!!).
The nice thing was they did not charge us for the move (It does state they can chare 25.00 for a room change). The bad thing was I left my kids' Game Boy video games in the drawer of the bedside table and we never recovered them (they were obviously not turned into Lost and Found, as I have spoken to Melinda of Lost and Found numerous times). I truly believe that the guests in the room after us took them. I just can't see a mousekeeping employee risking his/her job over two two video game units (including 4 games and a ton of recharageable batteries...). I just had to 'get over it' as my husband said! That was our only 'down' point of the vacation.
The view from 528 was a quiet pool and beyond that, a parking lot. Nothing spectacular at all. But, like I said, the balcony was larger (triangle shaped, rather than rectangle) and the room was (or seemed to be) a tad larger. If it had just been my husband and myself, I don't think I would have asked to switch. But with the kids, not having a tub or any counter space was very much inconvenient.
