BCV: Can't bank or borrow...

...until we close on June 5. With only 210 pts., we are trying to reserve a two bedroom April 20-26, 2003 (356 points).

Unfortunately, we can not bank 2002 points or borrow 2004 points until we close. This will be too late to complete our reservations for the week after Easter 2003.

Is anyone having or has anyone experienced a similar problem?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You should be fine for your reservation.

Make as many days as you can now and the rest after closing. You'll only miss exactly 11 months by a little over a week at a resort not sold out. No other DVC members can reserve that time until late September. It's unlikely that all 2BR's will be gone within 2 weeks.

Did you talk to your guide? I think others posted here that their guide was able to get a banking or borrowing exception for them.

I agree with both suggestions.

I don't think you will have any problem at all reserving the days you need after you close. Disney has to declare inventory before it is sold. While a resort is selling, there is more member inventory available per member than at any other time. The seven month window will even be easy until it is closer to sold out.

Also, calling your guide could work also. I have heard of this exception before. I remember that some personal guarantee papers had to be signed.

I'm trying to borrow enough points to book a few days at OKW in December...but can't do the borrowing until after June 5, so I hope they don't run out of studios at OKW. I'll have to go on the waiting list if there aren't. If I go on a waiting list, do they wait until the room is actually available to borrow the points?

I agree. Everything should work out fine with your BCV reservation. We are still well within the 11 month window and there should not be excess demand yet given the level of sales at BCV. Good luck!
