Having stayed at WL(but not VWL) but not at BCV or BWV, I am having to rely on reading the various comments on which resort to buy in to as a home resort. One measure of which resort to choose is to look at the resales...many listed resales would indicate a higher level of displeasure with that resort...or at least this is what logic would dictate.

THe current listing of resales shows few for VWL, fewer still for BCV and many for BWV. Using my logic, this would indicate that owners of BWV are less happy with their purchase than say owners of BCV. Obviously, I am looking at "a date in time" and not looking at resales over a 6 month or 12 month period, but is there some other reason why BWV has so many resales listed and BCV has so few ?

We have been infrequent visitors to WDW, but now with our DD's out of the nest, the DW and I are looking to travel to WDW more often (or HH/VB) and DVC is looking like a possibility, plus the DD's can use it in the future. We loved WL but are afraid that the DD's would not like the "solitude" of WL...any ideas ?

According to the Member Guidebook that we got in '03, BWV features, 383 Vacation homes, including studios, 1-2 bedroom units and 3 bedroom Grand Villas.

BCV features 208 Vacation homes including, studios, 1-2 bedroom Vacation homes.

VWL features 136 Vacation homes, including studios and 1-2 befroom Vacation Homes.

There are more BWV owners and points!

Bobbi :) (A very happy BWV, VWL and VB owner.)

I think there are more BWV because it has more units and it's been around longer (more life changing events, probably, for people who have owned longer).

We own at all three, BCV, BWV, and VWL. They are all three terrific in their own way. Especially if you prefer hotel style amenities (room service, lots of restaurants, inside hallways, etc.).

That said, BCV has the longest wait list with DVC for add-ons through Disney direct.

As you know, you are looking at a snapshot in time and only one broker. The number of resales listed on the TSS website fluctutates - IMHO, judging the satisfaction of owners by the number of resales will lead to a flawed result.

In addition to the fact that BWV is larger than the others, it has also been around longer. Thus, there has been more time for owners' circumstances to have changed.

The best thing to do (IMHO) is to visit each resort you are considering, and see which appeals to you the most. Consider the times of the year you prefer to visit and the parks/places in which you usually spend the most time when you visit.

Good luck with your decision.

I don't think that's a good gauge. I don't have any reason to think that lots of people are dissatisfied with VWL, but even if there were, the number of resales wouldn't be that high relative to other resorts because there are fewer points at VWL to be resold. The size of the resort matters.

I think rather than basing your decision on the number of resales, I think you should base it onyour personal tastes. What kind of theming do you like best? Can you plan 11 months in advance, or can you only plan your trip a few motnhs beforehand? (If you can't play well in advance, SSR is almost certainly your best bet.) Which location do you prefer? There are lots of things to base your decision on, but I don't think the number fo resales is one of them.
