BCV bookings slowing down?

We decided at the last minute (well sort of last minute, 7 months out!) to book a Spring Break trip March 12-19. I wasn't expecting much availability when I logged in this morning but had my choice of everything including GF, Poly, BW, BCV. I booked BCV and was surprised to see it available since it has fewer rooms. Is BCV seeing less traffic due to the newer resorts?

Newer resorts also bring new members into the program...some of whom undoubtedly want to try BCV from time to time.

Regardless of size, it's pretty rare for any resort to be consistently booked prior to 7 months. That would take owners who are willing to regularly commit to stays at their home property more than a half-year in advance.

It's fairly commonplace for SOME availability to remain at 7 months. Specifics vary by date, room size and resort.

Other than a few times late winter and early spring are a relatively easy time to book at 7 months. It's not at all like the last 3 1/2 months of the year.

Last year the resort options were much less for Spring Break. We couldn't get what we wanted but were ultimately fine with that. If we're escaping the Midwest after a long winter, we're flexible and don't tend to be dead set on one particular location. Simply happy to be traveling to a warmer climate.

I think our school district break date was later in March last year and closer to Easter which may have played a factor now that I think of it. This year our break may be earlier than others which could open up some options.

In 2015, BCV was supposed to be rehabbed. It did not happen then but at 7 months out from March 2015, there were rooms designated as out of service for the intended refurb. The refurb is occurring this year and thus the same lack of rooms occurred at 7 months out for March this year. March is a fairly low DVC demand time, and usually you will find many things open at near park resorts. BCV Is usually a little more difficult but in 2015 and 2016, it was more than somewhat difficult. For 2017, we are starting to see BCV open more again in March.

I had good luck today getting our reservations also! Maybe the renovations are scaring people off
