BCV booking question

Question for BCV owners. Do you find you have difficulty getting what you want in the 7-11 month window? For example, if you don't book right at 11 months out but before 7 months out is it tough to find availability, or is it generally ok up until the 7 month mark when booking opens for everyone? Does this hold true for fall and early Dec too? Trying to assess my chances of getting a 2 bdrm or 2 studios for next Nov or early Dec when my contract is not scheduled to close until early Jan. Thanks!

Studios will go first, December is one of the most booked months for DVC.

I expect that the BCV refurbishment will be completed by then but it was supposed to be started a few months ago and was delayed.

During Food & Wine, it is very difficult to get anything at BCV. As a new member, congratulations, note that there are 3 different 2 BR configurations. Dedicated, with 2 queens in #2 BR, and dedicated with 1 queen and a sofa bed in the #2 BR and the lock off 2BR. A 1 BR and a studio.

We generally book a 1 bedroom during f&w - for our trip (we are here now), I booked a week in december 2014 (at the 11month window) but then tried to add on a few days in January 2015 (so at 10 months) and Saturday was already gone. I would say BCV is very difficult during F&W weekends. We have not had issues if I book at 11 months but this was the first time we had issues at 10 months.

We have difficulty booking the dedicated 2 BR w 2 Queens in that time frame but have been able to get a dedicated 2 BR with a Queen and a Pull-out in the second BR.

And the dedicated with two queens are difficult to get if you get too far into the owners booking window - depending on the time of year. They are a lot like BWV standard view. Early September or early May and maybe even a non-owner will snag one at seven months - early December or Food and Wine and they might be gone by the afternoon of the eleven month window - or even walked.

We do not own at BCV. We are owners at OKW and AKV. We were able to book at 1 bedroom for Christmas week this year at the 7 month mark.

BCV was scheduled for refurbishment and may have had availability due to members booking at other resorts because they didn't want to be there during rehab time. The rehab was postponed and other than some common areas, I don't think that it has started yet.

Thanks! I do know about the different 2 bdrm configurations. I will not be picky for this trip! Sounds like the weekends will possibly be the most difficult to get at 9 or 10 months.

We have booked a 2BR in October at the BCV twice in the past few years. Both times were at about 9 months, and we did not have an issue getting the dedicated 2BR with 2 queens. Even so, I would book as soon as you can to be sure.

That may have been true last year, but doesn't seem as true this year, what with the uncertainty about when the rehab is going to happen. I base my thoughts on trying to book the F&W at BCV for the last 2 years (for 2015 and 2016). Last year, even though I'm eligible to book at 11 months, I forgot and it was a whole hour after booking opened that I tried to book. Had to go on the wait list! You'd think I'd learn, but this year, I forgot until the afternoon! This time, I figured for sure I'd be on the waitlist, but I had no trouble getting what I wanted. Both times, it was for the same week. Probably just luck, but I can't help but wonder if BCV has a slightly bad name with the rehab uncertainty.

I just got my account set up and was able to book tonight! Got a 2 queen 2 bedroom for four nights in November! Pretty happy with the availability so far.

BW std & BW view is much tougher to book than BCV.

At 9 months, I was only able to get a studio for the last week of F&W. I expect, if I waited until 7 months, I wouldn't have been able to get in at all.
