Hello Everyone,

First time poster. I did not know anything like this exhisted. I am glad it does. I have definitely learned a lot from just reading the many informative posts.

My home resort is BCV. However, I have yet to stay there since I joined in 2003 because BCV was all full. So, I stayed at the BWV and loved the experience.

My family and I am are going to stay at the BCV, in a studio, starting January 1st, 2005 and I am looking for advice/recommendations regarding room views. I know you can not speciffically request a room and I know nothing is a guarantee.

I have heard the EPCOT views are nice but that the road that goes by is noisy. So, any inputs on garden/epcot/pool views, what they overlook, noise levels and what floors the studios generally occupy would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You Very Much,
Bruce

We own at BCV and stayed there last March. In a couple of weeks we will be at OKW :). To answer your question, we wanted EPCOT view but not the road noise so we requested a 4th or 5th floor unit. We got 4th froor (a dedicated 2 bedroom) and a great view of SSE!!! My kids were thrilled! We could still hear the road some, but not too bad and mostly when we were first getting up in the morning. We have a pretty busy road in front of our house at home though, so it would take a LOT of road noise to bother us. The fantastic view was more than worth it to us, although I think the quiet pool view would be nice too. Welcome to the DIS! Hope this helps, and have a magical trip.....Lacee

Example of BCV 'woods view'. Taken from room 122. Couldn't hear any road noise from here. CM said we had Illuminations view, but we were never around at that time to see it.

..... but anytime I look out my window at WDW and don't see New Jersey...... it's a great view.

grimgrinnin, I had a similar view to that in your picture and loved it. However, when I called MS for my next trip and requested "woods view", they insisted there was no such thing. When I got to BCV, got an Epcot view, facing SE, and found the road noise to be too distracting. So when I recently called for my next trip, I requested "non-Epcot" view. MS laughed and said, "Well, I think that's one request you'll probably get-most people like the Epcot view". Moral of the story? One person's "best view" may be another person's least favorite! Give me the woods/courtyard any day. But someone else-they'll love the Epcot view.

WE asked for a epcot view and was told there was no to have all booke . so we got a room on the 5th floor by the woods right behind canada no road noise at all and could see all the fireworks great what a great view don't rember the room number sorry . Whatched the show all the time.

We just got home :( from staying on the 5th floor in room 563. I never even noticed the road noise, but DH did, but he stayed out on the balcony everynight to watch Illuminations and then the "blow off".

The Epcot view is a great view and I'm glad we did it.

We stayed in room 551 and requested Epcot view. If you look in grimgrinnin's picture, it's the room on the top right floor of the building, under where the roof peaks. The last three balconies were ours. It was a dedicated 2BR. We were right next to the road, but honestly, didn't hear any road noise unless we were out on the balcony. Sometimes we could hear a delivery truck in reverse with its "beep, beep, beep", but it wasn't distracting to us. We had a great view of Illuminations. I'm a little leary to request quiet pool view, as this sometimes tends to be not-so-quiet. I guess it depends on what type of noise you think would bother you less: road noise or people in the pool noise. Good luck. (I just remembered I forgot to request a dedicated 2BR for our next trip-need to call MS!).

We were in a 1BR at BCV two weeks ago, room 530 (which was a handicap accessible room). We looked out over the quiet pool, and beyond to the parking lot. I didn't mind the pool, but I thought the parking lot view was a little bland. It might not have been bad to be on that side and on a lower floor, maybe you wouldn't see the parking lot beyond the trees. It was very quiet, but it was also a slow time of year.

SheriB-
Did your dedicated 2bdrm have two queens in the second bedroom or a queen and a sleeper sofa??

Everyone,

Thanks for the helpful input. I think I am leaning towards a garden or pool view.

Bruce

Lisarenif,

Our 2BR had a bed and sleeper sofa. I believe we stayed there before they made the changes with the 2nd bed in the 2BR.

Bruce,

Good luck with your request.

You might want to take a look at Webmaster Doc's post from a while back. The discription of the views are great.
