looking to stay at bcv from nov7th to the 12th .called last week and all they had was the 7th and 9th.so i booked at bwv for those dates and was put on a waitlist for either the whole time or any 3 days in a row that may come up?(i figured if we could get the 7th,8th,9th we could switch then go to bwv for a couple of nights.)my queston is the 7th and 9th that they have avalable now may be rented out because it is not on hold for me now so even if say the 8th becomes avalable one of the others may be rented.so should i call today and put those 2 days on hold and wait for at least the 8th to free up and when and if that does to cancel first 3 days of my bwv reservation?i have enough pts to do it because i am borrowing from 2005 to do it?
p.s. we want to stay at bcv because our friends with there kids are staying there and they booked at the 11 month window because it is there home resort.and we love the sab pool so we don't want to miss that either.

If you are not going to end up with unbankable points that can't be used within the use year, I would make the reservation for the days available at BCV now, and waitlist day by day for the ones that aren't. If you do not have enough points to have both reservations w/o putting your points in jeopardy, then I would make back up reservations at OKW (or wherever there is availability) for the days that are not available and cancel them as the BCV days come through. This way you do not have double reservations calling for more points. The only downside is there is a possibility that you would have scattered days at 2 resorts, but being so far out I think you have a great chance at getting your complete BCV waitlist. Its a gamble! And it may be kind of scarey until it all comes through, but it is worth it in the end if that is what you really want :)

This method worked VERY well for me last year when I waitlised 4 days at BCV in August (VERY late in the game due to change of plans) for part of our October trip during the food and wine fest. No days were available at BCV when I called (I was expecting that :) ). So, I booked the days I could at OKW (all but one), and I waitlisted the last OKW day to complete the reservation as a back up along with a day by day waitlist for all 3 types of 2 bedrooms at BCV(q/q, q/s and lock-off)! The OKW day came through the next day, so the back up was complete. 2 weeks later I got a call about our first night at BCV (2bedroom q/s). The next day I got the call for our 3rd and 4th night one in a q/q 2bedroom and the other in the q/s 2bedroom. Over the next 2 days, I got a call each day and within those 4 days, it came together! All four days in the q/q 2bedroom! Such a relief! We would have been moving everyday, and I was NOT looking forward to it!

This was just my experience! You are much further out, so you should have a better shot at getting what you want using the waitlist. I would go for it!

I hope your reservation works out for you, and I suspect it will :) Best of luck to you! I have my fingers crossed for a fast turn around on the waitlist! Keep us posted!

thanks kathy that's what i did.i booked the 7th and 9th at bcv and kept the other days at bwv.so now i'm on waitlist for day by day.so i'll be happy if even i only get the 8th to go along with the other 2 days so it will make 3days in a row at bcv.i hope they call if i get some single days instead of waiting for the mail.

They won't call if you chose auto confirm (meaning they book w/o notifying you). They will just send a snail mail confirmation. I chose call to confirm; because, I wanted to make sure the days I was cancelling were cancelled before the booking of the new days. I didn't want to have the hassle of them borrowing points on accident and me having to call back to hopefully straighten it out. I am usually home during the day, so I was sure I would get a hold of them w/in the allotted time. You only have until the next business day to return their call to accept the days that are available if you do the call to confirm route, or else you lose them.

Again, best of luck to you! I am pretty confident you will get your reservation! Have a great trip!
