We will be traveling with Me, DH, 2 DS's 13 & 11 and my mother. I'm trying to decide between a two bedroom for all of us or a one bedroom for my family and a studio for my mom.

My question is if I do the one bedroom and a studio, will they be located close together?

Our first DVC trip. Are there any maps that show the BCV? The only resort map I have seen shows YC and BC ut not where the villas are located.

Thanks

There is no guarantee that if you book a one bedroom and a studio that they will be near each other. If you get a 2 bedroom lock-off, you will have the door between the two that you can keep open or close depending on whether you want free access to the two villas.

At the BCV's the door between the two is located in the hall area as you enter the villa, so an opened or continuously closed door there is conveniently out of the way, and not "in your face." At the BWV or VWL for instance, the door between the villas is right in the living area, and more noticeable I think.

I would "go" with a 2 bedroom lock off, it's a few less points than a studio and one bedroom, besides.

Definitely go with the 2 BR lock-off and save some points. If you want, don't even say anything about the rooms connecting until check-in. This is what I did with family last year when I needed a 1 BR for us and 2 studios for relatives. "Oh look, our rooms are right next to each other!" No one noticed that the room key was the same for both doors, tee-hee.

I'd go with a 2BR.

You and DH in the master, mom and one grandson in the 2nd BR, other grandson on the couch. Unless grandma is pretty spry and wants to sleep on the couch to give the adolescent boys the 2nd bedroom!!!!

Is the 2 bedroom "lock-off" something I need to ask for specifically?

Yes, you should request it. There are dedicated 2 BRs including some with two queens. The two bedroom queen rooms are booked as a sepearate category form what I understand. However, I don't know if you can book a lockout or just request it.

Have fun! :cool1:
