Hello. What's the difference between a BCV 2 bedroom dedicated, and a 2 bedroom lock off?

Also, is there a better location for a 2 bedroom? I've attached a map of the first floor that indicates where the rooms are.

Also, why is room 154 such an odd shape? Looks as though it's either super small, or it's got something in the middle? Please note that the 2 bedrooms are the "yellow" rooms.

Thanks!

Looking at Floorplan looks like dedicated has another small closet where the lockoff studio door entry would be.

Maybe others who own there can comment though.

A lockoff is a studio with a one bedroom. So no two beds in the second bedroom, just one bed, a murphy bed and one sleeper sofa.
That strange room looks like it has a housekeeper's closet or electrical closet in the space between the bedroom and the rest of the villa. The second bedroom is split off from the living room and master bedroom. It must be dedicated since it doesn't have a different number on the smaller space. It probably is the same amount of space. I noticed on Touring Plans they say these rooms have a king bed, queen bed and two sleeper sofas, which has to be wrong if it is dedicated. They don't list the murphy bed either,

The layout is just a little different in those rooms. You’ll notice that the closet is in a different spot, the connecting door is in the back, and the bathroom layout is a little different in the second bedroom. This video shows the layout of one of the rooms like that. This was taken before the last renovation and now these rooms will have 2 real Queen Beds in the 2nd bedroom like @Deb & Bill said.

Differences are the second bedroom (the studio side of a lockoff). As far as the 2nd bedroom is concerned:
  • 2BR Lock off has one queen plus sleeper sofa and the small TV stand bed, the kitchenette, one bathroom sink, and a tub/shower.
  • 2BR dedicated has two queens, double bathroom sink, and walk in shower (no kitchenette).
And of course the lock off has the extra outside entrance since it's really a studio and 1BR combined.

Thank you all! By the way, is there any way to find out what I have? I booked through (I don't think I can mention the name)...and it is now set in MDE. All is says is a 2 bedroom villa.

Probably dedicated if it's a DVC booking. The categories are "2BR" and "2BR Lock-Off"

I have stayed in an "X54" room. (254). You would never notice the offset second bedroom.

We have stayed in #154 and #254. These are the rooms that we "request" every year when we make our reservations at BVC. The X34's and X54's feel roomier to us. I think the biggest difference from the other dedicated 2BR's is that the entrance to the second bedroom is off of the living room near the balcony instead of right inside the entry door. Room 254 is our absolute favorite because of the BIG balcony. The second BR does have 2 Queen beds.

If the room type doesn't include "Lock-Off", it's a dedicated.

The X34 and X54 are due to the bend in the building. The main difference is the door to the 2nd bedroom is in the living room and not the entrance foyer. I personally do not care for them.

IIRC, X33s have an extra long balcony. Could be mistaken though, it's been a while.

I don't care for them either, the Living Room seems more congested when the people staying in the second bedroom have to walk all the way through there to get to their room. With the other dedicated 2 Br there's more of a natural traffic split either to the right or left once you enter the villa. Of course with the lock off, the occupants of the second bedroom can even use the other entrance.

Definitely true if you open the sofa sleeper in the living area.

Quick question. Since my room was booked (through third party) who had the DVC owner book it, is it ALREADY established which room it is? Or is the room randomly selected like five days out like a regular hotel room? I'm trying to see what the chances of me getting a pool view Vs. a road/wood view since it was actually booked by an owner?
