BCV - 2 BDR Dedicated vs. Lockoff?

I'll be booking soon (first trip "home"), and will need a 2 bedroom. Is there any advantage/disadvantages to either the dedicated or lockoff for a two bedroom? The plan was to have myself and dh in the master, in-laws in the other bedroom and kids on the pull-out in the livingroom so everyone has their privacy.

Does the dedicated have more space? Would having a lock-off provide a better setup for the inlaws, or is it a waste of space? Any difference in the number of patios, beds, or anything?

Thanks!

With a lock off you would be assured of two patios. With a dedicated you might only have one, but you might have three.

With the lockoff, you will definitely have one queen and one double sleeper sofa in the second bedroom with one queen sleeper sofa in the living room.

With a dedicated at the BCV, you might have two queen beds in the second bedroom (only 25 of those) or you might have one queen bed and one queen sleeper sofa (more of those).

A lockoff might be a nice choice for your inlaws. They would have their own entrance, small refrigerator for beverages or snacks and coffeemaker.

BTW, the dedicated 2 queen rooms are a separate booking category.

SSR, BCV, VWL have two beds in the non-master bedroom. Why doesn't BWV have this too in every room instead of only 25?

You have a few errors in your post. BCV does not always have two queen beds in the second bedroom of a dedicated two bedroom. There are only 25 that have that. The rest have a queen bed and a queen sleeper sofa. The rooms are odd sizes and a second queen bed did not fit in the second bedroom. Thus the sleeper sofa. And it might be a double sized sleeper sofa and not a queen. I think they actually went back to see where they could add another queen sized bed in the dedicated two bedrooms at BCV and only found 25 rooms that they could do that with.

BWV has no dedicated two bedrooms. They are all lockoffs, so there is always one queen bed and one double sleeper sofa in the second bedroom at BWV.

BCV23 is correct. If you want to have two queen beds in the second bedroom of a dedicated two bedroom at BCV, you'll need to request that.

OKW always has two queen beds in the second bedroom, whether it is a lockoff or dedicated.

Does anyone know if the dedicated 2 bedrooms at the Wilderness Lodge always have 2 queen beds in the non-Master bedroom or do you have to specifically request that?

Here's a similar question - we're looking to book a 2BR at BCV. I don't care if it is lock-off or dedicated, nor do I care if the dedicated has 2 beds or a bed and a sofa in the second room. What I do want is first floor, which I believe is just a request.

So, do I have to pick one of those three booking categories when I book? Or can I just say 2BR and request first floor?

TIA! :goodvibes

How comfortable is the sleeper sofa at BWV?

All of the dedicateds at WL have the 2 queens in the second bedroom.

How comfortable is the sleeper sofa at BWV?

A friend stayed with me in a BWV studio earlier this month and she said the sofabed was comfortable. It was very easy to pullout.

My son slept fairly well on the one at BCV which is just like the one at BWV. He's 6' tall and 14.

I was just wondering this myself, because I have been booking a 2-bedroom lockoff day-by-day for next November. In 2005, we had a dedicated 2-bedroom on the 1st floor. There was a lot more closet space since the kitchenette area was missing, but we hadn't known to request 2 queen beds, so we had the queen bed and sleeper sofa. In 2006, we had the lockoff and liked it because of the extra mini-fridge. So for 2008, I have been booking the lockoff because we don't really need the 2 queen beds, though it would be nice with two kids having their own beds, but they also enjoy the sleeper sofas.

Good luck with your choice!

I didn't see this mentioned, but with a lockoff the phones are on different systems. That way, you may have a wakeup call for 7:00am, and your in-laws can have a wakeup call for 7:30. With a dedicated two-bedroom all the phones ring at the same time.

The lock offs also have a separate thermostat for each bedroom. Makes it nice if you like to set your own temperature. :thumbsup2
