We spent the first half of our trip at POP, they were great with DS's allergies. So this morning we woke up at YC for the first time and tried to find breakfast.
The only eatery here open was the captain's grill with a 45 minute wait. So we ran to BC- where there is Cape May (no openings) and the marketplace... there was a 15 minute wait to get to the front of the line to be told that they have a gluten free bun only. (wheat/egg allergy is not an option)
So am I missing something? Was the girl at the marketplace misinformed or are there actually NO options for CS food if you have allergies here?
When we were at the Captain's grill the hostess also said the kitchen was shutting down so by the time we sat only the food at the buffet would be available!

We ended up walking over to the boardwalk and eating at Kouzzina which was amazing. I just wish when I contacted special diets and the resort directly before our trip somebody would have given me a heads up about that one. Making me run around with a starving preschooler is just mean and wasted about a half hour of my time!

We stayed there in June and unfortunately you are in a bit of pickle with those types of food allergies. I think they might have Babycakes items which might help depending on the exact allergies you are dealing with. There is also a location at DTD with more options.

I'd stop at the concierge desk and let them know your situation. They should call the chef which should be able to have something available to send by room service.

Another option to have ready for a quick option would be to call the Boardwalk Bakery and let them know the allergies and they should be able to make muffins or something similar.

Hope that helps - I know it can be rough in the BC/YC area for food allergies.

This is one of the reasons we're not fans of the Crescent Lake resorts. If we ever stay there again, we'll stay Club Level so we have a chef to work with. When we stayed at Yacht Club August 2011 I knew that there were no CS options for our allergies so I made sure that any time we'd be at our resort for meals that we had a TS ADR and for breakfasts we ate simple foods in our room using food I ordered from Garden Grocer. When I spoke with a chef before our trip, I was told that our only options for a quick breakfast was to order from room service and there was no way I was about to pay room service prices every day plus wait for delivery (I don't know how that's considered quick) so that's why I placed the Garden Grocer order (plus I like quick breakfasts and we don't eat big breakfasts so we often do that anyway).

BC Marketplace does have some Babycakes last I heard. Check the cooler. You can also check into getting an order of goodies delivered from Babycakes (I don't know the procedure but I believe it can be done; there may be a delivery charge on top of the cost of the food but I'm really not sure).

I'm shocked to hear that Captain's Grille said they couldn't prepare something not on the buffet for somebody with allergies. Did you ask to speak to a chef due to your allergies? Allergy food is prepared in a different part of the kitchen so they should have been able to accomodate you.

when i was their in june they have a display right next to their pastry display with baby cakes items they was almost sold out but that was in the afternoon.

They must only carry Udi's buns over there? Udi's are gluten free, dairy free, soy free, nut free, but not egg free.

There aren't that many options there, but Kouzzina is usually not that packed for breakfast and as you found out, is amazing! The only other place close by but that isn't TS is Fresh Mediterranean over at the Swan & Dolphin. You can do buffet or a la carte and they were pretty good with allergies when I was there last year.

My first couple of days at the YC CL.... a couple of Diet Cokes :sad2: I was very very disappointed how my allergies were handled.

Boardwalk Bakery was wonderful to work with and so was Kouzzina's including the pizza take out window :cool1:

We are planning a trip back to the YC near Xmas because of location - I'll plan accordingly for food as really it's quite pitiful at the resort.
