To make a long story short, we are in need of a "back up" resort for our February trip, and the BC/YC will likely do the trick. Are there any big differences between the two? Other than decor?

There are a few differences: Most of the rooms at YC have full balconies. BC has both full and standing room only balconies. YC has a conference center, so sometimes it has more business people there. In my opinion, BC is more noisey and bustling due to the Cape May Cafe in the lobby. BC has the Marketplace to purchase food and other sundries too. They are both great hotels and would be a great back up for your trip.

I agree w/ the above posting. We just spent a week at YC, loved it. In the past I really didn't see a difference, however, on this trip I really did notice the difference in lobby traffic. The BC was definitely more lively. We actually prefer the quieter feel at the YC, still families, but I suppose the BC has the Market Place, the Villas and Cape May Cafe traffic as well as the other BC guests.

Also, all full balconies at YC is a bonus. Our room was in great condition at the YC. Check out my thread w/ pics of our YC room and view.
