BC vs. BWI for parents (in their mid 80s/70s) + DD6/DS8...

Thanks Debbi for your input and the infos... I very much appreciate it.

gigi.. I have considered the Dolphin. I know they have Tubbi's there and I can still use the boat to the parks. Thanks gigi.

Hmmmm...hmmmm.... whew... still thinking... anyone else would like to add their thoughts and maybe share their experience?

another vote for beach club, because stormalong bay has zero depth entry at its sandy bottom area, and the smallest children and non-swimmers are just fine there. I had a harder time in the BWI pool when my kids were very young-don't think it is zero-entry, but I may be mistaken.

Telly, here's the menu from Deb Will's site...

I would split the stay if it was just me and the kids, but I don't think I would do a split stay with your parents, that might be a bit much for them...

There are actually a lot of restaurants in the Epcot resorts area. The Yacht Club has the Yacht Club Galley for breakfast (buffet and menu), lunch, and dinner. Check out all the dining options on allearsnet.com. Go to dining and menus and check out the Boardwalk, Beach Club, Yacht Club, Swan and Dolphin. Far more options that you think. Also, the Boardwalk has the Belle Vue room on the lobby level on the way to the elevators. They have a number of breakfast options (bagels, muffins, donuts, etc). We brought them back to our room and thought the food was good and the prices were also good.
We love staying in the Epcot resort area. We have stayed in the Boardwalk and Yacht Club. I have read that people find the Beach Club noiser than the others, but we have never stayed there. Most people stay in this area so they can get to Epcot and the Studios by walking or the Friendship boats. If this is not a priority for you I would check out the Magic Kingdom resorts for monorail access.

Thank you Laura and everyone for sharing your thoughts on this one. Laura, thanks for the link on the restaurants.

The reason I want to do the split stay is for the location, to be close to the parks we're going. We are doing Epcot and MGM, my mom will be using the ECV, so this might be easier to get to Epcot by using the boat or just walking it. And for MGM, we can use the boat to get there and we don't have to use the bus.

Then we're doing MK and I want to stay either at the Polynesian or WL (perfect resort during the Holiday and it has two hot tubs for cold nights!)

I am going to do just the same with the splitting. We will probably just take the bus to MK and then boat it to either Poly or WL.

As much as possible my parents, especially my mom not to move around so much in the ECV and that's why location is important, the way of transportation is important as well as inexpensive places to eat that is on the premises.

Anyone else care to share their experience and any more thoughts on this one.

Between BW and BC, I'd go with BW. The pool isn't so spread out, so it will be easier for everyone to be together and to watch the kids. Plus you'll be closer to all the eateries on the boardwalk and you've got great boat transportation to Epcot and MGM. I also think the decor is just beautiful.
Wilderness Lodge will be the least expensive and a junior suite may be a good option there. Transportation won't be as quick to Epcot and MGM.
I'd figure out how many trips you'll be making to each park and see if that influences your decision. Good luck!

Another vote for the Swan or Dolphin. We are starting our trip there and then moving over to the BC. If we could have gotten a good rate at the Swan or Dolphin for the entire stay, we would have stayed there but BC cost less.
