I have heard about the dreaded road view which wouldn't be the end of the world but I would love to avoid. Where should I request a room?

Let me begin by saying, views are important to us. BUT, in April, we had a BCV studio - room 375. At first we were concerned because our balcony overlooked a road and canal. Friends also stayed at the BCV and had a pool view. The first evening we went on the balcony and couldn't believe how nice it was to see the lights at Epcot. We heard fireworks, looked to the left and saw the high displays from Wishes. We met our friends the next morning and they liked their view but said it was rather noisy. Overall, we heard very little noise from the road. And, we even got to see fish and the famed alligator in the canal!

I will start by saying view is not a priority for us, but I was a bit concerned about noise when we arrived to our room (our trip was in May) and we had the road view.

We actually liked it. We heard very little noise, if any (nothing that sticks out in my mind) and I actually liked sitting out on the balcony with my coffee and no one else around. Only one time did I see others on their balcony. So it was nice and private.

We even had a 'visitor' on the walkway below. Some type of crane type bird that was blue(sorry, I am not a bird expert). Watched him for about 5 minutes until he walked out of sight. :goodvibes

I think as long as you don't get your hopes up on a particular view, you won't be disappointed.

Have fun.

We had the road view but were in 457. No noise and really nice fire works.

Actually it was more private than the pool side. We are going after the same room in April only on the 5th floor.

I just got back from BCV. I'm not happy when I get that road noise. I love the woods view rooms. However, I haven't figured out why MS won't let me request "woods view" at BCV-they always say "there's no such view". I even tried "overlooking trees", but they wouldn't take that either. However, I tried asking for a "quiet area", and I feel like I got the greatest view ever! Woods view, Eifel Tower off to the right, Illuminations straight on, and no road noise. I've also had the Courtyard view a couple times-that's fun for people watching, and there's no road noise. The only downside with the courtyard view is there's no view of Illuminations. But I loved my view from studio #422.

I've always liked the pool view there. I also had the "non-woods woods view" ;) that Simba's Mom is talking about (I know exactly what you mean!!!) and it was great!!!

We were in rm 277 this past Aug. Road view with the canal. We didn't notice any noise at all while we were inside. The times we sat outside noise was minimal from the road, its not like cars are constantly zooming back and forth. We could hear the music from Epcot like the British Invasion and we could see all the high fireworks, and hear the music from Illuminations. It wasn't bad at all. And looking at the canal was kind of peaceful.
