We are traveling with friends our next trip. We plan on renting points while our friends may go through Disney reservations so they can have two Queen beds with the murphy bed. How far are the different buildings?

Here's a map from DVCnews.com. The buildings themselves are not far apart but where your rooms are could make it a bit of a walk if they were opposite ends of the resort.

So what would be the best way to make a request when booking so we would have the best chance of them being close?

The typical thing is to have Disney make a note on both reservations of "traveling with xxxx reservation number". I don't know if that will work when one is in the villas and the other in the hotel but that may be a starting place.

If you are booking DVC and they are booking the hotel, you will be in two separate buildings and nowhere close to each other. You'd just have to meet up each day in the lobby or at the bus stop.
