BC SAB's Pirate Slide closure

I just received a letter from Disney stating that the pirate slide at the SAB will be closed from 5/5 - 5/11.

I am bummed; we chose this resort for the whole SAB experience. Fortunately, the rest of the pool will be open. They will be running a shuttle bus from the BC to the Boardwalk pool from 10 am - 10 pm.

Do they usually give people only 1 month notice of closures that will affect there resort stay?

Some things they know and can warn about earlier. Some things they don't make a big deal about because it falls close to just routine maintenance. Keep in mind that the SAB is huge and only a small part isn't going to be available.

I was just surprised, but quickly recovered and am happy to know the rest of the pool will remain open. I know that this is a minor glitch and we will have a great time at the BC and SAB.

Another positive re: the closure is we have the opportunity to try out another resort pool.

In january, I was thrilled to find the BWV Luna Park pool closed. DS and I walked over to SAB and had a blast. I am thinking of adding 2 days on to the next trip just to stay there because he loved it so much. It was a grand adventure.
