We are booked at BC for October. My kids will be 5 & 6. They cannot swim alone, although they will be taking lessons soon. My question is, we can stay at Coronado (my favorite resort) for $1,000 less, is that money worth the pool for kids who don't swim? We can afford it, but a part of me would like to save that money or at least spend it on crap we don't need.

Also, I'm not sure which park we'd be spending most of our time at.

One of the reasons we booked an Epcot resort was we want to spend time at F&W. But on the other hand, we've had such great bus service from CSR, I wouldn't mind the extra time it takes.

Any advice? I keep going back and forth. We don't want to do a split stay, it has to be one or the other.

I hope this makes sense.

I bet your 5 and 6 year old will LOVE the shallow beach/pool area of SAB even if they are non-swimmers. There are plenty of zero entry pool areas for them to swim along at SAB.The kids meals by the pool are served in beach buckets for their use in the sand. There are also plenty of extra buckets left behind for other children to use. There is also a kid size slide and small pool at the stairs for the big slide.

I don't know whether or not that's worth the extra money for you, but we really enjoyed our 2 stays at the BC. We love being able to walk right into Epcot WS.

We love BC, but DD and DH know/love to swim, so with your kids not really knowing how to it may be a problem... But since it is SAB even though it is the monster of all pools (in size) that comes with some pros. Since your kids can't swim very well there are many sections to the pools, which will be helpful. The depths may range from 10ft to 3ft, I know there is a sand area where many younger children go to, and then if you want to rent a tube for them to lay on in the "mini lazy river" you could do that. The lazy river part is deep but since you have the tubes they should be able to stay afloat pretty easily. I think that BC is a great choice, but if you know that you love CS and the pool would be okay for your kids, then maybe that is better. $1,000 is a lot of money, now there is no doubt you will love it, and if you want some change, then book BC, but if you seem to be worried about it then don't hesitate over booking the resort you already know that you will love.

Also one thing about BC, when we started staying there, our DD began to love Epcot because of her growing and understand of the world there. She just started liking HS recently and she is soon 15, so maybe being in walking distance to those resorts may not be the best idea for the ages of your children..... But my choice is still to take the chance on BC, because once you get there you won't ever want to leave:) Your trip will be amazing regardless of the resort you end up choosing, but good luck!:thumbsup2

You also get free night time entertainment at the Boardwalk with jugglers and mugicains. And you are just a 3 minute walk away from the back entrance to EPCOT and a boat ride away from Hollywood Studios. That whole are is nice around Crescent Lake. I think the kids will like SAB, they have lefe vest for them to wear in areas where they can not stand.

My First concern was for the kids safety... however then I read PP's entries and I do agree...

SAB is a FABULOUS pool... BC is our favorite resort because of it.....

and we've stayed at BC/BCV the last 4 times .....it is a HUGE pool and does offer some concerns for non-swimmers but has areas where your kiddos can have a great time within boundaries....

You will definitely get more enjoyment from F&W being that you are walking into Epcot....
and as PP mentioned you have the opportunity to try out Boardwalk...
This will be your first Deluxe? I saw you've been there and done that RE: CS....... so why not try something new this time?

You can walk to Epcot and are very close to many dining and other fun opportunities at BC....
Either way have a magical visit !

Yes, as mentioned SAB does have a shallow childrens pool with sand. I'd stay away from the lazy river unless they are wearing life vests. It's very deep. There are plenty of lifeguards stationed everywhere, and they don't take their eyes off the pool.
They also have a small childrens slide.
I think BC would be a great location, and easy to get back to the resort for a mid day rest with your kids from Epcot and DHS.
