I’m currently booked at the BC in late August and can switch my reservation to YC for the same rate. Do all the rooms at the YC have balconies? I’d love to have one if possible. Also, which resort do you prefer and why? Thank you!

I have to say that I like the YC better then the BC. Other then it saves you a few steps going to Epcot, the Beach club seems to be less cared for, IMO. It just has a different vibe. I have stayed at the BC a few times over the years and I have found their staff to be snobby and this goes back 2 decades. I have never experienced that in any other resort on property. And yes to the balcony question. If that is important, I would go with the YC.

I agree!!! We love the full balcony... you will run the risks of getting a Juliet balcony at the Beach. We are splurging next year and getting a water view at the Yacht!

Yacht Club over Beach Club for balconies (we stay Club Level) and also it's just a quieter more elegant resort, which we prefer. I always tell people to start from the shop in YC and walk to the BC shop. You will notice how much busier and louder it gets by the time your reach BC shop. Having said that, we do occasionally stay at BC. But we prefer YC for these and other reasons.

I prefer the YC rooms over the BC because they have been updated. But we would rather stay at the BC because the food options at the marketplace are better and it is closer to Epcot and the Skyliner. But we will book whichever resort is cheaper and lately it has always been the YC.

We like both. We chose Beach Club for next trip because I don't actually like the new furniture at Yacht Club - the wood is too dark for my tastes, but that's purely personal.

Also I just love the solarium at Beach Club. Of course you can use it if you staying at Yacht Club also, but I wanted the busy vibe of Beach Club this time around. It's possible we may get a Juliet Balcony, but that's enough room for me to stand on with a glass of wine and take in the sights/sounds!

I think you will be happy with the switch. I concur with all of the previous posters' reasons for the YC being better. We did a split stay last month between the two and I was miserable when we moved to the BCV. My previous stay at BC had been CL and it was chaotic, too. Everything is just quiet and cool at YC. CL is fabulous there, too.

Yacht Club for sure! There is a sense of comfort and style about this resort that the Beach Club simply doesn't have. Don't get me wrong BC is an amazing resort... just not the YC =)

This is another resort I love going to simply to wake up early and read in the lobby.

we haven't stayed at either yet, so I'm not much help there.... but we originally booked The Beach Club, really only because it was closer to Epcot (that was my husband's choice ). It kind of concerned me about the 1/2 balcony, but it wasn't a deal breaker. So when the Disney+ discount came out, the BC wasn't included, and they asked if they could switch us to the YC. ( which honestly, I've always wanted to stay there). So we said yes, and we actually booked a water view room for less than what the BC garden view would have been (with that discount). So I'm super excited to stay at the YC. I love sitting on the balcony reading. So for us, it all worked out . I'm sure both are amazing though !!!

If price the same then Yacht Club just because no carpets...otherwise however we get the pool in the cheapest way possible. We usually end up renting points and staying cheapest at Beach club villas.

In terms of rooms from worst to best IMHO- 3. Beach club villas 2. Beach club hotel 1. Yacht club hotel

YC tends to win with us, but I could go either.

BC just tends to be busier… lobby always bustling, Cape May smell, the quick service place is bustling. None of these are fatal flaws, I just like the slightly less bustling vibe of YC better.

We also tend to hang out more on the YC side of SAB so that factors in our thinking somewhat.

I find the YC hallways terribly dark and dreary while BC’s are light and whimsical - BC wins there.

The balcony thing is pretty important on our scale of considerations, so that plays a big part too. There are a select few rooms at YC that don’t have a balcony, but they are so few you don’t have to worry about it, unlike at BC where it’s more like 50/50 (very rough math there).

Another YC fan, it is my favorite resort on property and I've stayed at just about all of them. I like the full balcony on YC because my favorite thing to do is wake up early, go for a walk and then sit on my balcony with a cup of coffee. I also like that YC seems more quiet and has less kids. Don't get me wrong, I have a kid, don't hate kids, but my kid is grown so I like a little quieter resort. I will stay at BC if it's the only thing I can get but frankly, if I can get Swan/Dolphin for less, I'm going there instead of BC.

We stayed at YC in March and it was our first time to even walk through either resort. As others say, yc felt much quieter. The lobby of bc while we were waiting for cape may was extremely loud and busy. Even when yc lobby was filled it wasn’t nearly as loud. As a matter of fact I sat in the lobby a couple times during our trip just taking it all in. That’s something I’ve never done at any hotel anywhere before.

We absolutely fell in love with yc. Would love to stay there every trip but it’s too expensive for us for that.

I just wanted to thank all of you for your responses. I made the switch to Yacht Club and couldn’t be more excited. It’s just my adult daughter and myself so it sounds perfect for us.
We arw trying to rent points for our trip next year but for our backup hotel I also just made the switch from BC to YC. We spent most of yesterday researching the two and ultimately decided the balcony issue was more important than being a few minutes closer to Epcot.

I always find it interesting to view other opinions regarding the resorts. Our list would be upside down from this based on our stays! BCV is our favorite, YC 3rd. I think the good news for the OP is that there isn't a bad or wrong answer. The entire resort is amazing, in our opinion.
