We are looking at booking our stay next year during Food & Wine...which would you recommend staying at BC or YC? And why? There is a slight price difference between the two...

BC for me, too! Closer to EP and enjoy the vibe a little more (YC feels very convention resort to me). Location cannot be beat for strolling in and out of EP WS!

There isn't a huge difference between the two. If there was a price difference, we would probably go with whichever one was the least expensive. The other factor is that some rooms at the BC do not have full balconies - standing room only. If that matters to you than go with the YC. If really close proximity to Epcot, more relaxed theme or quick service food is more important then go with the BC.

Really, you won't go wrong with either for F&W.

Enjoy!

Big BC fan. We loved the resort, the rooms, ambiance, and the pool is fun. Nice close walk to EPCOT and quick boat to HS.

i have stayed at both and like the vibe at YC better. quieter and more sophisticated. i felt far more relaxed there than at BC. with that said, it is just one huge building and really not two separate resorts, as much as disney likes to make it seem that way.

I would say pick the theme that you like the best and go that route. I personally would never, ever, choose between these two resorts based on one of them being closer to Epcot; the walk from the YC to Epcot is only a couple hundred yards (if that) and two minutes longer than the BC. The YC is a shorter walk to the boat dock though. But I also wouldn’t let that be a deciding factor either. The only way I would choose between the two based on distance is if you have mobility challenges. I personally like the YC better than BC. For me the BC is busier and much louder because of Cape May. That and I actually enjoy the décor and theme of YC better. Either way, they are both very nice resorts and I’m sure you will be happy with whatever choice you make. :goodvibes

I prefer YC because a full balcony is important to me. At BC it's a 50/50 chance of getting one.

YC is..... boring looking (IMHO) It is done up in navy,grey...sort of 1850's east coast sailing ship look (lobby) the BC is done up tropical style, with light colors, and a lighter, prettier feel. I LOVE the BC atmosphere. I dislike the YC atmosphere.

I'd choose BC for sure....
- closer to Epcot
- newly refurbished rooms
- counter service option for a quick snack/meal and mug refill
The YC rooms should be newly refurbished by that time as well.

Anyways I haven't stayed at either but will be staying YC CL in January so I will know more then.

I can't wait to hear your review...

Good to know. Then the YC earns points for being newly refurbished over the BC.

YC because having a balcony is important to me. More than saving 2 minutes on my walk to Epcot

Have you considered the Swan? Their rooms are just renovated and are beautiful. Although you don't get magical express and they do have the $25 fee of leaving you two bottles of water everyday, they can usually be had for the same price as a moderate if you book a good discount. There is a recent post on their thread showing examples of the discounts and what Disney perks you do get, it isn't like staying at a Disney Springs resort.

We've stayed at both and prefer the BC because it is more convenient for food and parks. But the YC is very nice, too, and we stay there when it is cheaper that the BC. They are both very nice. :)

I'm personally a fan of the YC, but it depends on how old everyone in your party is. YC for an older group, BC for a younger crowd, but as others have said you can spend time in either resort easily as it's one big building and all amenities are shared. YC just has an upscale nautical theme, it's nice and classy IMO. Both should have recently updated rooms and are very similar.

If price is an issue, go with the cheaper option.

I prefer Beach Club because of decor (the refurbished rooms are really beautiful) and you have a little bit less walking to EPCOT and the marketplace. But I would go with the cheaper option if there was a significant price difference. You really can't lose with either!

Have stayed at both I would pick the BC, but with the YC CL just being renovated I wouldn't mind going back there. They both have the same perk of being able to walk to Epcot and HS. One has a Marketplace in it the other doesn't. Its all about price as well if one is cheaper than the other go for the cheaper one they are both great resorts.
