BC online check-in...room requests for standard?

There aren't many options for standard view room requests, but I'm wondering...
If I want a room as close to the main pool and lobby as possible, should I request close to transportation? We are booked standard and wanted to be close to the lobby or SAB, but that option wasn't available with online check-in.

I would call and make a request via phone "close to lobby". There are a lot of rooms that are quite a hike to the lobby.

That's what I'd do, too. Have done, in fact. IIRC, the last time I did online check-in for BC, one of the options was "near elevator." I selected that, but it didn't quite cover what I meant (after all, there are other elevators besides the ones near the lobby/Marketplace). It was a quick and easy phone call to clarify that I wanted to request a room near the main elevator.

I'm booked through a travel agency. Can I still call to make a request? Or do they have to do it?

I've never used a TA, so I'm not sure. From other threads I've read, I *think* the TA does need to put in the request.... But if I'm wrong, at least I've bumped up your thread, and maybe someone else will chime in to set me straight

I went ahead and sent my TA an email just to see if she could put in a request. I am hoping we get a nice location....the last time we were at the BC, our room was near the Epcot walkway. That was great since we were just there for F&W, but it was miserable walking to the Marketplace. I got lost every time!

The BC needs better signs in the hallways. We kept getting lost when we were there in October. We were in a standard view room and I kept heading down the wrong wing.

Most of the standard view rooms are at the other end of the resort, above the restaurant and service areas. These rooms are closer to the main lobby than the rooms closest to Epcot are.

That's a relief....At the BC I would definitely rather have a service area as my view as long as we don't get stuck down where we were last time lol.
