BC: Is water view worth paying extra for?

Right now I have a standard view room. Is it worth it to upgrade to a better view?

When we were at YC, we were given a free upgrade from standard view to water view. Our view was of the quiet pool. I was thrilled with the upgrade because it was free; however, if I had paid for water view, I would have been disappointed that the view was just of the quiet pool. Something to think about.

yes it is worth it..some of the standard views overlook the parking lot..not terribly pretty.. the lagoon view is very nice and so wonderful to come back to from the parks. have a good trip..the bc is great!

I always books waterview at the Mods, but with the price difference at the deluxes, Im not so sure. I dont think I would chance paying that much extra and then end up with a view of a quiet pool.

How much time are you going to spend each day staring out your window? If it is significant then yes. If you are going to the parks and spending time around the rest of the resort, no it is not.

Depends on you. I use my balcony mainly in the evening after the kids get to sleep. Me and Dh can have a beer a relax. We have gotten some really good views and have also gotten the dreaded "dumpster view" both times I've loved the balcony, so for us the answer is not really. I simply enjoy "chilling" with my sweetie after a magical day in the parks. If your the type that needs a nice view to enjoy your room, do the upgrade.

I had a standard view during my YC stay and although I could see a parking lot if I looked to my left, I also could see lots of trees if I looked to the right. Plus it was a corner room so I had both a balcony and windows, which I really liked. I'd prefer spending the extra money on eating at some of the nicer restaurants around Disney.

And since it was a corner, I had a staircase right next to me that led me right to the quiet pool.

One of my fave Disney rooms ever was a std BC view. I do know they have some crappy ones too. How important is a balcony to you? If you want one of the nicer views (woods or courtyard) AND a full balcony, the options are relatively few. If you are flexible about the standing roo, balcony, they should be able to find a nicer view.

Thanks for all the advice! After finding out that some rooms have double beds, I think I will request queen beds and not worry too much about the view, although I don't want to be staring at a dumpster but if I might not have a full balcony anyway, it shouldn't be such a bad thing. I am more hopeful that the weather will be warm enough to use the pool in December. We are from Michigan so as long as it's not in the 50's or lower, my dds will be ok with swimming.

Personally for us the room view is important as we spend a lot of time at the resort and enjoy a full balcony. Keep in mind that not all BC rooms have full balconies at Beach Club - if that is important, you'll want to ensure you request it.

We were in Room 4563 two summers ago with a water view. We LOVED this room and while we couldn't sit out on the balcony it was big in length (some are literally the width of the sliding doors) and we could lean on our balcony, so we did spend some nice time on it.

The room was in this wing, top floor furthest room to the left (you can see rooms on the third floor have smaller standing room balconies):

Jenjersnap- Where was this standard room and what did you like about it? Sounds like the best of both worlds, lower cost and better room?
