BC in August

First let me say that I haven't gone to DW in August before but this year that is our only choice. So we made reservations at Cont early since they tend to fill up fast but the truth is if we don't get a discount we will probably change. Well since I was thinking that if we change we will go back to Beach Club I was looking to see how much a room would be at no discount and to my surprise all the garden view rooms are booked! They do have all the Club levels available and pool/lagoon view available. We made reservations for NYE in October this past year and we had no problem! So is this the norm for Beach Club to fill up in August? Is this not the norm but that is just how many people are going to be there, I mean I keep hearing that attendance is up. Opinions please.

We go the second week of Aug. every year and have never had any problem getting a villa at the BC. That being said, I made my reservations back in Oct. There may be a convention for the time you are looking for and that will cause the rooms to book quickly. Also, we leave on the 15th and free dining starts that weekend so that will also cause resorts to book more quickly since that is a big offer for most people - for us we get a room discount with AAA and are out before the free dining crowds. We have never had a problem with crowds in Aug. when we go. Schools in the South and other areas start going back as early as the 1st of Aug. so that lessens the crowds.

Sounds like we are going to be there the same time, we are looking at August 10-16. Like I said we had no problem getting a reservation in Oct for NYE and last Feb we made them for May so I was shocked when I just saw the standard and garden views were booked. Glad to hear you guys haven't had trouble with crowds, I know here it will be last week of summer vacation and we are definitely used to the humidity so we are excited. Just hoping for a discount!
