DH and I were at WDW for the Teddy Bear and Doll Weekend but we extended the trip. We were there May 15-21st and did not arrive until after midnight on the 15th.

Ft. Wilderness Cabin
This was my first time staying here but DH has stayed in the cabins and camped here. DH loves Ft. Wilderness and was excited for me to try it. I think the front desk could have been a little friendlier. Central reservations did not have us coming in until the 16th and so our reservations were messed up. Not so fun when it's late at night and you're tired. But everything got straightened out. We were in cabin 2240.

The cabins reminded me of being out west, and I liked that. I didn’t really feel like I was in WDW because it seemed different from the rest of WDW and it was quiet. The cabins were rustic looking but nice. I liked the wood beams on the ceiling and the high ceiling in the bathroom. I do wish you could have a bedroom without the bunk beds and a queen bed instead. The full bed was a little small for us, especially since we’re used to a king at home. The bedroom was cozy and cute though. I really liked the bear and moose sconces over the full bed. We had towel animals in the windows.

We rented a golf cart and drove around a lot. Having the cart was a lot of fun. We went to part of the movie that they show outside. It was Mary Poppins that night. I thought the outdoor benches were fun. We got there too late to do the campfire part but there's always next time. We didn’t stay long because I was getting bit by ants or something. But it was fun except for that part.

Beach Club
We had another problem with central reservations here. We originally booked BWI but I noticed about a week before our trip that they had sent us a planning brochure that said something about us staying at BC. We called and found out we were booked at BC, and we couldn’t get BWI for our nights. Oh well. That’s never happened before. We had never stayed at BC so we were happy to try something new. It worked out for the best. We've never had problems with central reservations before so this was a first.

The CMs at the front desk there were great. We reserved a standard but were upgraded to a water view, which we were thrilled about. We had a view of the lighthouse too. The room was great and quiet. We don’t like how most of the WDW rooms are not that quiet. I loved the room décor with the use of blues, greens and yellow. I liked how the ceiling was painted a light blue, which also happens to be my favorite color. I always thought this hotel would be really noisy with the pool, Beaches and Cream and just having seen how the lobby is always bustling. But it wasn’t and that’s a good thing to me. We had a towel animal - a butterfly.

I love how close BC is to Epcot. I thought BWI was close but this was even better. Since were there for the Teddy Bear and Doll Weekend and all the events take place in Epcot, it made it really easy to go back and forth. All the CMs we encountered here were friendly and helpful. But we didn't get to talk to Art the greeter and I was sad about that. I guess that gives us another reason to go back. I definitely want to stay here again and this is one of my favorites now.
