Hi!
Stumbled upon this board doing research for our trip (our first ever to a Disney park)..
We (my dad, myself, my 2 boys [9 and 12], and my wife) are flying out of Vancouver (a 12h driving trip in itself, from where we are - 850km north of Van) and connecting at Toronto.. We get in really late in the PM on the 15th, unfortunately.. Might be in our Pop Century rooms by 1 am..
Hopefully we'll have plenty of gas for MK, which I PLAN to hit first (against advice).
We have 5 day MYW passes with quick dining plan.
I'm using a crowd calander that I found on easywdw.com that suggests the following order for our trip, starting on 16th:
16th MK or EP
17th EP, or HS
18th MK or HS
19th Universal or EP
20th HS or AK
21st Martin Luther King Day so either water park, downtown Disney, or hotel pool + wandering around other resorts via ferry and monorail.
22nd AK or MK
Rainy day: Downtown Disney, Disney Quest
Dining:
MK- Columbia Harbour House, Pecos Bill, Main Street Bakery
AK- Flame Tree BBQ
EP- Tangeirine Cafe, Sunshine Seasons, Kringla Bakeri og Café, Boulangerie Patisserie
HS- Starring Rolls
Downtown Disney- Earl of Sandwich, Wolf Gang Puck quick service
Not much down time accounted for, unfortunately, but the kids have school and dad and I have work.. The kids are troopers (18km hikes not unknown), but we will definitely work on their stamina leading up to trip and break in some new walking shoes..
I plan on eating in the hotel room nad getting to the parks 30 min prior to opening, using touring plans I got from reading the Unofficial WDW guide 2012.
We have 1 park we can see twice, and that's going to be Epcot or MK.. Probably Epcot, just because the world showcase will be very nostalgic for me (Expo 86!)..
I may break away from the crowd calander (Easy wdw) reccomendations, as some things like Fantasmic and the Electric parade we might actually want to see, even if it DOES mean higher volumes of people.. We'll see..
Anyhoo, just thought I'd introduce myself, maybe snag some feedback..
