Glad it was some help for you. I just wanted to mention that many Seattle hotels have a park and fly option (including the one we're staying at) where your parking is free (while you're busy enjoying Disney World) and they also have free shuttle to the airport and back again. Can't go wrong with that.

My son and I fly out of Seattle on American Airlines on August 21 to go to the Pop Century until September 4. I was able to get our flights for just under $300.00 Canadian each, and including the Deluxe Dining for 14 nights with a passholder rate we are paying just under $2000.00 for the room and food.

We are spending the night before we leave at the Doubletree which is just across from Seatac. We have a large room as there are six of us and they keep the van for 14 days. Cost is just over $210 including taxes. You can likely do it for less as there is only 4 of you so you can get away with a smaller room. When looking for hotel sites at Seatac click on packages or special offers, that is where you will usually find the stay and fly specials.

Our days of flying out of Seattle are over (we've done it so many times, I can't even count). I think it can still be a great option if your savings are significant (plus the park & fly options at the hotels are a great convenience).

We strictly fly on Alaska Air out of Victoria now with that short transfer in Sea Tac and it's become more than worth the extra money we spend. Considering gas, ferry, hotel and meal costs... the savings aren't siginificant enough for us anymore.

Plus, with the Alaska Airlines mileage plan credit card, we each get a companion fare per year which is a huge savings on airfare, plus the miles add up fast and we get a free trip to Orlando from Victoria about once every 3 to 4 years. Couple that with the fact that we generally buy an AP for WDW, so we get some great savings on the resorts as well.
When I add all the savings up, the difference between flying out of SEA or YVR/YYJ becomes insignificant.

Also, I find the earlier you can book with Alaska, the lower the prices usually are (which is much different than most airlines who put the deals on last minute).

Just a few more options to think about for BC-ers who like to travel to WDW.

Still.... when OH when will the powers that be in Vancouver realize that we need some reasonable, direct flights to Orlando, and that people in BC don't JUST want to go to Disneyland

I am going to DL again this is my fourth time in under a year LOL.
I have a deluxe pass so you know i cant waste it!

I am only going for 3 days and a few hours on the last it's a quick birthday trip. I am staying at the residence in which is in placentia which is less then a 10min drive to DL. It cost $47 a night from priceline with no resort fee's so you cant go wrong. I booked flights out of seattle through Alaskan airlines, i never book out of Vancouver just to much of a rip off. My tip is to sign up with all the airlines you can think of and they send you deals. February i got 2 flights return through virgin air for 280 all taxes in, and in november they were offering 2 ppl for only $208.

Anyways i am excited for this trip, it may be the last on my pass unless i can squeeze something in by October lol.

We are heading to WDW in the beginning of Jun/11 for 10 days or so... We have BLT booked for now but we'll probably make it a split stay at 7 mos.

We are flying out of YVR on Alaska through Seattle and return on United for $1,100.00 for three. I thought that was not bad as we fly to YVR on airmiles the day before.

Our last trip to disney world was in January 2 1/2 years ago. It was a big hit and we have been looking forward to when the budget would allow a return trip. I have been obssessing about flights from late Dec. I am interested to hear that Alaska needs to be booked as early as possible. Anyone know how many months in advance is ideal for Alaska? It looks like I missed the cheaper flights this year. We will fly out of Belligham with a connection in Seattle.

We are using the Doubletree for our overnight for the first time. Glad you like it.

We like it because the rooms are big and clean...and then there're the warm cookies...

There's a sink inside the bathroom and another sink outside, so everyone can get ready at once. The only thing about the Doubletree is that it's massively huge. When you check in at front desk, make sure you pay attention to where your room is on the hotel map, or you could be wandering around -- like I did with all the luggage and 2 kids in tow.

4 years after this thread was started I wanted to see what was going on now.

Newbies to DisneyWorld. Husband, me and DS (9 years old) We are going Sep 25 this year. 2 weeks in the world and then 1 week on a eastern Caribbean cruise.

Paid $730 each out of Victoria on Alaska Airlines (most direct flight - around 7 and 1/2 hours each way). Would have liked to get better pricing - seems that $680 is the good price from Victoria but we didn't want to have to spend hours flying.

1 day at each park with an extra day to revisit one of them. No park hoppers. Seaworld one day, Discovery Cove, Universal Studios (2 days) and 2 1/2 extra days to play be ear.

Cruise is with Royal Caribbean - Cocoy Cay, Bahamas, St. Thomas and St. Marteen.

1 1/2 years in the planning and counting down each day.

Heading out for our 12th trip to WDW on Sept. 10. Staying at POFQ.

We will be renewing our annual passes and possibly heading back in early December.

We skipped WDW last year because we got a PIN code for the Disneyland Hotel that we couldn't pass up.... but now we're craving WDW again.

Hate the lack of flights from YVR, as well as the atrocious prices.

We got lucky this time because we had enough Alaska miles to get free flights, but as most of you know, YVR to MCO is ridiculous. People don't believe me when I tell them the prices are often around $700 to $800 per person.

Does anyone else have the Alaska airmiles card? It's awesome... dollar for dollar on your points and a $75 companion fare once a year.

5 nights POR - 13-18 Aug
9 nights SSR in a 1 bedroom - 18-27 Aug

We just bought a vacation home 3 miles from WDW, closest to Animal Kingdom. After years of travel with our family it didn't seem to matter where we went we always compared to WDW. So in March we bit the bullet and bought a home there. We are so excited. DH and I visited at Easter to paint and fill it with things we thought were missing (high chair, crib, stroller, themed kids' rooms and some other homed touches). We are going in August with 3 of our 4 kids (oldest one is working) and another family (first time to WDW) plus 1 of our youngests friends. We will drive to Seattle and fly from there, staying the night before at a hotel as we got direct flights with Alaska for $493 but they leave pretty early.
We will do 7 or so days at WDW and 3 at US/IoA, taking it slow as our friends' daughter has Mitochondrial Disease and will be moving a bit slow.
Soooo excited to show our kids their new home

Wow that's great that you can do that - certainly having only 1 person pay would make me fly from Victoria too - although my kids love stopping at one of the outlet malls on our way back. I'm not sure they want to give that up but my wallet would be grateful
