We are booked for our first Beach Club stay in June. Until last year all of our DVC trips have been at OKW. Last year we stayed at the Treehouses in August, a Boardwalk studio in November and an AKL studio in December. After 12 years we are finally broadening our horizons.

With that comes questions.

DH and the boys want to know if the Beach Club villas have "the big old crappy tvs" or if they have been updated with flat screens. I hardly ever watch tv there so personally couldn't care and probably wouldn't notice.

My question is regarding the layout of the master bedroom. On the DVC site the room layout looks like there is a desk on one side of the bed and a nightstand on the other. I called Member Services today to request that it be noted that we would like the room configuration so the night stand is on the right side of the bed and the desk on the left. I do dialysis at night and need to set up my machine on my right, so the nightstand would be better. Plus even if the desk worked (I'm thinking it could be too high for my machine to work right) that it wouldn't leave us anywhere to hook up our computer. The CM I got insisted that there were two nightstands. We even went so far as to pull up the room lay-out online together...at first she told me the "second nightstand" was just being portrayed with the drawer open. that made no sense whatsoever since that is never in any of the pictures. She finally conceded that it was a chair next to it, but still insisted that it was a nightstand - not a desk. She had no explanation for why there would be a chair in front of a nightstand. :confused3

Should I call again and hope for a different cast member? Or is there a different number I should call? I have seen mentioned on the disabilities board that there is a Special Needs number - I don't know if this is what they have in mind.......and I don't know what that number is.

Our 2 BR earlier this month had flat screen TVs.

It is a desk not a nightstand. The chair in front of a nightstand with the drawer open is hilarious. :rotfl:

However, many years ago now all the rooms seemed to have been rearranged so the easy chair and table are by the bed and the desk is on the same wall as the armoire. To avoid confusion I'd just request that the nightstand be on the right.

I would make the request through Special Requests. I think the # is still on the disAbilities board but I don't know if it will help. When we request an accessible room, MS puts us on hold while they speak with Special Requests. I don't think that department usually talks with guests these days unless they initiate the call to clarify things. So you may have to call MS again and ask them to contact that department.

When you checkin, double check that your villa has the right setup. If the master BR is on the right side, you're good to go.

Good luck.

We're in a BCV studio right now and its a flat panel wide-screen TV. I'd have to believe that the bigger units also have flat panels.

Hi Jeff.:wave2:

Yep, as I said our 2 BR did have flat screens. All three including the studio portion. I'm not sure if all villas do yet though. Someone posted on the Y&BC thread that BCV is working on that. We were on the second floor. Whichfloor are you on and does your studio have a DVD player? Ours did not.

Have fun!

We're on the 2nd floor and the unit does have a DVD player. Also wanted to mention that we're in a lock-off studio, not a dedicated studio (if there are any at BCV).

Thanks for the reply. This has really bugged me as two CMs told me our second BR (studio) shouldn't have a DVD player.:confused3

Yes, there are dedicated studios although I'm not sure how many.

Have a great time at BCV!:cool1:

We steyed in a 1BR last month on the 3rd floor... Flat screens in both rooms. This unit had a studio lockoff.
