BBQ Ribs

My dear nephew(9) would like to have some really good ribs. Where can they be found? Staying at POR and doing MGM and EPCOT only.

IMHO the best ribs in all of WDW are at Flame Tree BBQ in AK. Price is right too, just under $9 for a half slab. I get these at least twice every trip.
Plus, if you purchase the Meal Deal certificate at AK, you save at least $3 on your lunch, dessert and afternoon snack.

Flame Tree BBQ in AK or Whispering Canyon Cafe both have good ribs..The ones at Cosmic Ray's arent too bad either

You can get ribs at Whispering Canyon as part of their all-you-can-eat skillet. The kids' price for all-you-can-eat is only $8.79. The ribs are very good and they have some great side dishes too. Plus Whispering Canyon has some fun kids' games.

I suggest you DON'T get the ribs at POR food court.
DH ate them once there and said they were the worse ribs he has ever had. I don't think he even finished his order.
That was also the day I mistakenly bought the meatloaf at the same POR food station. Luckily I thought it tasted bad (as in bad recipe) and ate only a few small bites. I was sick during the night and the next day.

We got the ribs at Sci-Fi and thought they were just 'ok.' We have great rib places where we are from, so I guess our standards are a little high. Just wanted to share our opinion. They were tender, but maybe it was the sauce we didn't really care for. They weren't bad, just nothing to write home about

Flame Tree BBQ in AK -- consistently good. Whispering Canyon at WL also good. Some time back we took the hotel tour at WL and saw the ribs smoking in giant smokers -- fun!

Are the ribs at Flame Tree or Whispering Canyon spicy? We have 'northern' style ribs up here which is what we love- lots of sweet sauce. Some more 'southern' BBQ we have had has been very dry and spicy. How do the WDW restaurants do it?

I think Flame Tree served the ribs "dry", with a couple different kinds of sauce available. I don't think the dry rub was spicy. And I didn't care for either of the sauces (regular or spicy). If I'm remembering correctly, I didn't like the sauces because they were too sweet (I prefer spicy).

We love lloyds! Have you ever had their tubs of pulled chicken/pork honey bbq for sandwiches? YUM!

The Flame Tree BBQ ribs get my vote also. I went over to the Animal Kingdom just to eat lunch some days......and to ride Kali River Rapids

I think Flame Tree's ribs may be the only real BBQ (low 'n slow cooked/smoked) in WDW.

Unfortunately for the OP, I have to agree that Flame Tree at AK is the place to go for ribs. We just had some today for lunch after checking out Lucky the dinosaur. We tried the ribs at Starlight Cafe for lunch Saturday and it didn't hold a candle to the ribs at Flame Tree.
