BBC (the drink, not the network)

I fondly remember drinking BBCs (Bailey's Banana Colada) on my last Disney cruise in 2004. Are they widely available on ship? I don't want to get any blank stares from bartenders.

oh my yes, they are available everywhere...they are my absolute favorite drink in the world. I have yet to run into a bartender that can't make them...and you just say a BBC, they know what your talking about! I have been on the Fantasy, Magic and Dream without any issues ordering these.

As a fellow BBC lover, I can say I have only once found a bartender who couldn't make them and I suggested they ask a coworker and he did! That being said they do not all make it the same way. Variations I have seen banana rum vs. banana or the use of both. (I like to watch)

Oh yes, that happened to me one time at Cove Cafe. The bartender didn't have any fresh bananas on hand, but he said he did have banana rum if I wanted to substitute that instead at no additional cost....I was like, no additional cost for more alcohol? Make me two!

They sound wonderful!!! I am going to have to try a BBC on my cruise in July!! Yum!

I got my mom and sister hooked! The drinks are not overly sweet but still nice!

That's good advice about the Banana Rum! I wish I knew that this summer. We always start off our cruise with a BBC, as dessert after lunch. On the Dream in July we went to the adult pool bar to get them and they didn't have bananas. The bartender did do some running around to try to find some, but it turned out they weren't yet on board, LOL! We had to go with our sail away drink of a Tropical Depression instead. ;)

Getting a BBC on sail away on my very first cruise (which was DCL) is my fondest memory. It was the sail away drink that cruise and I was disappointed on future cruises when it wasn't. But as other posters mention it is known by all bartenders and can easily be made sans fresh bananas. I even have easily ordered it on both RCCL and Celebrity. It really is a cruise staple for me.

I don't think I could tell anyone I want a bbc. I would had to order it by the full name.

Last time this topic came up I mentioned the acronym stood for something else to me, and a few people didn't seem very happy with my comment.
