In Florida. Scary stuff. Does anyone know how at risk wdw is from these? To see buildings just disappear is frightening.

Counting down to 14th May!

Are you kidding? THE ONLY reason we keep going back is because of the sink holes. What a thrilling way to go!

I'm just kidding! No idea about WDW but Florida has had its share of sinkholes. There was one in the latter part of last year too that got its share of publicity, but mostly from US media coverage; I don't recall seeing anything about it on the news this side.

ETA, yes, it's the one chmurf posted a link to.

I agree it's pretty scary stuff. However, did you actually watch the whole programme? If so, you will have seen that the majority of the risk is on the West coast. Never say never but I don't think you need to worry too much. There is just as much risk of a hurricane, tornado, freak snow storm, an earthquake, an ash cloud or any other freak of nature. Or a road traffic accident, being run over by a bus or suffering a heart attack (in fact, probably more so).

There have been just 4 reported deaths in Florida from sinkholes - not a high enough statistic for me to be concerned about it ;)

We have been there thru a hurricane and stuck with the ash cloud, we are working thru the list:rotfl2:

Ha ha - remind me when you're going again Wayne? I'll avoid like the plague :rotfl2::rotfl2:.....

Agree with 2Tiggies - what a way to go - happy at WDW :thumbsup2 I LOL so much at this DH thinks I've gone mad btw ;).

Could I respectfully ask that you skip the sinkholes, please Wayne? Purely selfish motives here, but I don't think wifi signal is great down in the sinkhole and how would you keep us up to date with your trippie? ;):rotfl:

Like Wayne if you travel to FL (or anywhere really) you will be affected by nature. We have had a TS, TS pass by off the coast, tornado warnings.

Still won't worry me - we will keep going :goodvibes

Very interesting programme. I can remember the resort that chmurf mentioned being reported on the news when we were in California last year.
