My DGD will be 12 when we go in September and I am wondering if she is too old to do the hair thing, she isn't a real girly girl but did want me to make her a fairy costume last Halloween.

Maybe I should just make the appointment and let her decide.:cool1:

If she wants to do it, she should do it. If she doesn't want to, then not. It's up to her. There are girls and women of all ages at BBB -- I've seen 55YO's there and 3YO's there, and everyone in between.

Let her decide! :thumbsup2

:earsboy:

My DD was 13 when we were there last year and she begged me to do it. We didn't, but I bought her a small crown to wear and I pulled her hair into a bun. My DD loves all that girly stuff. Hope she never out grows it.

Your average 12 yr old tween will find BBB too 'kiddie'. If she already isn't into girly stuff I dont see any way she would want to do that. Maybe you should make an appointment for you instead.

Thank you all for the replies.

I did make an appointment just in case she wants to, I would hate to get there and have her say yes and not be able to get in. We can cancel the day before.

Thanks again:wizard:

Why don't you just ask her what she wants to do?

I don't know if you have to put a deposit down, but maybe make an appointment just in case her mind changes, you can always cancel it.

If you're trying to make it a surprise, I prob wouldn't, because at that age, their minds change every day. Don't waste your time and her time at WDW trying to surprise her if she's not going to be interested in it.

I remember that age, it wasn't too long ago. Gosh, I was so mean to my mom. Now we're best friends! I call her every day just to say hi.

You beat me to it! :cheer2:

I know you already made your decision but I will put my two cents out there ... I think she will really like this == they do not have to pick a princess theme ... there is a rock star makeover ... and I am pretty sure they do like a punk look too for the older kids. Who wouldnt want to have this cool hairdo that really stays for days if you let it ...

I would keep your appt. and here's why...for the past couple of trips, my DD12 has insisted that she was too old for BBB, and did not want to do it. But, each time, we would see other girls made up, or pass by the entrance under the castle, and all of a sudden you could see her face change, the puppy dog eyes would come out, and she would turn to DH and say, "Daddy, pretty please???". And each time, her daddy would make sure she got a last minute appointment. We're going back in two weeks, and I'm not expecting it to happen, because at almost 13, I think she really does believe she is too old, but I would not be surprised if she asked!

If she wants to do it, then do it ^_^ You're never too old for the boutique :lovestruc The Fairy-Godmothers-in-Training won't baby her or anything, they'll tailor the experience to her age, so as long as she loves the styles, go for it ^_^
BTW, If she doesn't want one of those styles there is always the more casual "Cool Dudette" too :hippie:

This. There are thousands of guests in the parks everyday and I've gone at peak times and have never seen any "punk" or "rockstar" style from any kid that obviously had been to BBB.

My dd13 was 11, and there would be NO WAY she would want to do this. She was way too cool for a rock star makeover! :lmao:

my DD did BBB last june, and was almost 12 at the time. we didn't do any sort of costume, but we had her hair, makeup and nails done. she enjoyed all the fuss (even though she's not very girly) and the attention she got all day - cast members and characters called her princess all day, lol. (i know, some characters do that anyway) she got the bun hairstyle and it was so hard and stiff, we had to wash her hair 3 times to get it clean, lol.

The "pop princess" style isn't as popular as the other two. When I was at the BBB I'd probably only see a couple a day go out of the doors of the 100+ girls for the day. Sometimes there's a lot of Pops and sometimes you don't see them for days.

Oddly enough, Most of my Pops were in the 9-14 age range, it's a really fun style :goodvibes

my daughter and I are going in September and we both have reservation for BBB.. and she said we have the hair thing right and by the way she is 12 dont worry about they love it

If it seemed I was implying there are none, my apologies. Just trying to say with the way it's marketed, tomboys wouldn't want to bother with BBB.
