Not sure if this has been mentioned recently as I've been away from the boards, but when we made our reservations for BB Chad (a reservations cm) said that the wait times for waterfront are on average 3 hours now, any time of year. He said for some reason everyone asks for a water front table now so except long waits. I just wanted to give all of you the heads up.
We're still going to try for water front tables because I like the dancing fireflies and at most we'll wait a half hour, and if our name is not called we'll ask to just be seated anywhere.

We went twice in early September. Both times the wait was about 5 minutes. I am sure we were lucky but even times before have only been about 30 minutes for us. Now if you are going during the busy times I guess it might be longer but hard to imagine that there are that many people who would wait 3 hours. I'm with you. I would just settle for another table.

To be honest I was a little skeptical when I first heard that myself, I asked him if he meant during the busy times but he said no that it's like that all the time. This was in the middle of September that we spoke with him. I'm still skeptical but I just wanted ppl to know in case they show up and hear it's a 3 hour wait so hopefully they won't be as upset.

I've never waited that long. The trick is to get a ressie for right when it opens and then be there plenty early. That way you're seated first.

They usually get people in and out of there fairly quickly, so I can't imagine it would be 3 hours...

I would say that statement was an extreme overexaggeration. :sad2:

Sure he wasn't confusing it with the Nemo line? ;)

Do you think it's a way of discouraging people from asking for waterfront tables???

ya know, that's an interesting thought, because he also said "Personally I don't like the water front tables, you get all the people on the ride heckling you" so you may be on to something there becaues I've never had people heckling me from the boats. I'll find out in November though if it is indeed a 3 hour wait.

Hi Christina!

I think you are on to something here. All times that I have ridden Pirates, I've never heard the people on the boat heckling. Last June we were there at the BB, during the Nemo grand opening, and we got a waterside table within 10 minutes. And this was at dinner time. I always thought that you couldn't request a waterside table until checking in. Am I all wet??? ( No pun intended.)

Hey!
:rotfl: No you can't request waterside table until you check in, he mentioned the three hour wait time after he asked if we had been before, we said yes and we'll be requesting a waterside table, something like that. We'll also be going at dinner time and last year we went at dinner time and we didn't have to wait more than 10 minutes.

We went in July, had a 2 pm ressie, checked in at 1:30 or so, the CM freaked out and basically said we were going to have to wait longer because we checked in "too early". I said "do you want me to leave and come back later?" and she gave me a "look" and said "no, it's just not going to help that you are here now instead of at 2". I said that was fine, we were fine waiting for our table. We were called within 5 minutes and had a second row from the water table. So, not exactly waterside but close!! It was great, we could see the boats and wave at the passengers (who waved back) but we were far enough away that we couldn't hear anyone chatting. So, if you can't get waterside ask for second row from the water, you won't be disappointed!!

Oh and I find it very hard to believe it would be 3 hours for a waterside table

Hi, Christina!

We went to BB for lunch on my birthday last week. I took the earliest lunchtime seating (I believe it was 11:30) and was told that time would pretty much guarantee a waterside table. I tried to check in about 20 minutes early, but was told you can't check in until 15 minutes before your PS. So I just went to the end of the (long) line and by the time I got to the front again, we were good to go. And yes, we did get waterside! :goodvibes

I also had a reservation for dinner on our last night at the park, and again made the earliest dinner reservation I could, which was 5:30. I tried to check in 15 minutes early, but the CM wouldn't do that until my DH and DS7 (the entire party) showed up, so the check-in time wasn't until 5:25. I worried this meant we wouldn't be waterside, but we still were. Yay!

I hope that's the case for us too, because I would like to try to catch Fantasmic after we eat, our dinner reservations are for 4:30, we made sure it was the dinner menu and not the lunch menu so hopefully there won't be any mix ups with that, but I would also like waterfront tables, geesh I just want everything don't I? ;)

We've had some of the people from the boats yell at us to throw them a roll, but you learn to just ignore them because they aren't going to stay there long anyway. Usually it's pretty quiet sitting by the water, just some occasional rowdy people. We always do the 11:30 PS time too, and have had a waterside table every time (and I usually go there about once a month, so it's consistent.)
