BB vs. TL - which waterpark is better???

For school-aged kids and daredevils: Blizzard Beach. Ski Patrol Training Camp is great for the elementary-age set. Slush Gusher and Summit Plummet are the big thrill rides.

For everyone else: Typhoon Lagoon. Most people tend to prefer the tropical theming here over the "snowy" BB. The wave pool is outstanding, though very powerful for less capable swimmers. I also like the lazy river at TL more.

Both are outstanding, though.

We love TL!! The Surf Pool is fantastic. We can spent all day in the surf pool. The waves are huge, they have surf lessons prior to opening, they are that big. We are really good swimmers, so it's awesome!

Even if you are not a great swimmer, the surf pool starts at zero entry. I see a lot of younger kids there enjoying themselves.

We rent a cabana at TL every year, it's a perfect spot to call home. I need some shade time and the cabana is perfect. We get one by the Surf Pool. You can also rent umbrella chairs as well.

We have done BB a couple of times. The slides are top notch.

Blizzard Beach has more body slides while Typhoon Lagoon has more dingy rides. I personally dislike body slides because water flies up in my face like crazy and I am always in threat of losing my bathing suit!

I *believe* there is more shade at BB so if you have anyone that wants to sit in the sun and not partake in all the rides (that's usually me after 30 - 45 minutes) TL has better sunning possibilities.

Both are great but I would agree with others on TL if you have one day!

Another vote for TL. Get there at opening. Hit all the rides/slides. After lunch, lazy river and then hit the wave pool until you are spent. My boys loved body surfing those huge waves for hours. Wish they were young again.

This is discussed very often, I'd suggest just typing BB or TL or Blizzard Beach into the search area and you'll find lots of discussion.

My answer is it is literally about 50/50, they're both wonderful.

VERY helpful - Thanks. Bringing my 7Th Grader and it looks like BB.

BB for ALL age groups. They outdid themselves on the kiddie and tween area, and learned from TL.

Many years of going, finally talked gang into both one trip ... meaning TL for first time in awhile. They thought that while decor is nice, park was a snooze and please don't make them go back there again. We have not been since the latest slide, but not sure that would be enough to get them there.

TL has great tropic decor and the wave pool. It about ends there for us.

I love Crush N Gusher, and haven't been on the new ride, but otherwise I have to agree.

My group was excited when they were building Crush N Gusher, but upon arrival it was "okay" and not worth the hike up. We returned to TL specifically for this after enjoying BB a few times ... so maybe it was comparing the slides that made the difference.

I think it really depends on what you want from your day. Other than the wave pool we have found the slides at TL to not be worth waiting in line for. It is a great park for relaxing ... unless you use the kiddie area and that is pure chaos.

You can choose to relax at BB but at least there is the option of some really fun slides, I love they planned well for the different age groups, for some of us older sided folks the sky lift makes us able to last longer on the slides in between my lazy river rides. :goodvibes
