Hi again. I will be spending at least a alf day at a water park with my DH, DD -age 8, and DS age 5. Both are excellent swimmers, DS is under 48 inches. I can't decide which park would be best for us. I will be going Oct 24, and I see that TL will be closed the two days previous to this, then BB closes two days after. I don't think that will effect the crowds on my day, but thought I'd add it in. We've never done a water park, so I want to choose the right one. Please send your suggestions!!!! Thanks!

Both parks are wonderful, but somewhat to my surprise, I found I prefered Blizzard Beach. I had previously been to TL and thought nothing could top it. You won't go wrong w/ either park!

This question has been asked many times and there does'nt seem to be a majority opinion! We love both parks, but if I could only do one, it would be Blizzard Beach, as the family raft ride is longer (1/4 mile?) and we got fed up being knocked over in the wave pool at TL! But seriously, don't lose sleep over it.. pick either and you'll have a great day! (my DW , a non-swimmer, prefers TL for the more naturalistic theming around the lounging areas)

Tarheel -- We did both last trip and our entire family preferred Blizzard Beach. The family raft ride is awesome at BB and that would be perfect for your kids. Also the children's play area is nicer. We did like the wave pool at Typhoon Lagoon and the snorkeling with the sharks. I don't think your kids would be able to snorkel though, my youngest got freaked out with the mask, not being to stop on the way across the tank, not being able to kick your legs, the cold water and the sharks!! We all said if we had to choose one park it would be BB.

I agree that the family raft ride at BB is wonderful. I always vote for TL in these posts because of the tropical theming. Living in New England, the melting snow look just doesn't seem great to me. I see enough of the real thing! And the retriever was busy rolling in the frost on our morning walk today. Snow is closer than I'd like.

I think both water parks have good things to offer.

Everyone seems to like BB better because it has longer slides. But I just keep remembering how hot I got with the sun shining down AND up, reflecting off the snow.

I love TL, with the tropical theme, and the SHADE! I also love the wave pool, and think the sldies are great fun! BB does have longer slides which are fun, but the hike up the mountain got old for me quickly (I wasn't about to stand in line for the chairlift). We had a goodt ime at both parks, but TL was so relaxing, I could enver pick BB over it.

BB all the way. The kids area at TL is boring. My DD was bored to tears with it. it's funny usually the threads on the water parks go the other way and are very heavily leaning toward TL. The thing said most often is that BB has more thrills. Funny thing is that BB has only one more thrilling slide that TL, and has 3 more tamer slides than TL. I think people see Summit plummet and automatically think the park is all thrills. I do love the theming of TL, but unless you're just going to look around and sunbathe I'd pick BB.
IF the search function was up, I'd find the post where I did a side by side comparrison of both parks, listing their kids, family and thrill slides.
