We did the BBB last year for my daughter than 4 and she loved it. I plan on scheduling it again for her. Last year I waited to long to book and got a 4pm time which stunk because she really wasn't all dressed up for long since it was after 5 when we got out. When is the best time of the day to do it? I want to do it the same day we do CRT for dinner? Do they open earlier than the park opens like some of the character dinning? Is it better to get in first thing or do a few rides first before the crowds. I could possibly schedual during our break and my husband can take my DS2 back to the room and we stay for the boutique, DD will be almost 6 so not to worried about her needing a super long break everyday as she doesn't even nap anymore and we will have a stroller. Also does anyone know how far in advance we can book it?

Make it a full morning. Reserve breakfast at Crystal Palace at 8AM and then head over to BBB for a 9:30AM reservation if you can. You get to walk down an empty Main Street, grab a nice breakfast and then go relax and have your hair done. Then you get most of the day to walk around and be treated like royalty. That is what we did when DD was 7 and she loved it.

I agree. The earlier in the morning the better. We have always gotten first thing. Then after the makeover did our character breakfasts.

We have always done BBB before park opening then headed over to be first in line to meet the princesses. I don't know if it's the same since they moved. When they met on Main street with Mickey, if you were first in line you got to meet all of the princesses at once. DD thought it was awesome, and then our whole morning was free to hit the headliners before the crowds rolled in.:thumbsup2

So they offer times before the park even opens? We are doing Crystal palace one morning but not the same day as CRT so I want to do her BBB the same day as CRT. That would be awesome to get in there first thing and then go straight to fairytale hall since its right there. I am worried too about EMH. I dont want to go when they have them. I am hoping the morning we do Crystal palace its a 9am day. And then I'd hope its 9am for the other day as well. I can't imagine they do BBB appointments before 8am.

Yes, they start before park opening. I think 8:00am is the earliest appt.

BBB books the same as restaurant reservations. You can book 180 days out from arrival, but it must be done by phone. What I do is book my CRT ADR online at 6am along with my other dining reservations then call BBB at 7am and make sure it’s at least 2 to 3 hours prior so that there is time for any delay, the photo session and a couple of rides or a princess meet with someone not at the restaurant before CRT.

I couldn’t get a good time for dinner this year; so we are doing CRT for lunch at 1:00. Earliest BBB slot I could get at MK was 9:55 on the day I had CRT. But we also have Crystal Palace at 8:10 on a different day. I love pre-opening reservations at MK.

If you can get pre-rope drop times, do that. I personally would not schedule 9:30 am reservation as that is prime touring time. We scheduled our kids after lunch. That is when the parks are most crowded. We plan to stay late that night so they will have plenty of time after the make-over.

I am just torn if I should try and get the 8am BBB appointment, but if its magic hours that morning that doesn't do much good. If thats the case should we just get to park at 8am enjoy some attractions before its a zoo and schedule the BBB for maybe 11 or 12? That she still will be dressed up all day and for CRT that night.

I think it is very dependent on how important rope drop touring is to you. For us, it is key. I'd rather tour in the am, have BBB done right after lunch. But, if being dressed up all day is more important, do that. We don't miss rope drop touring. :)

What we do is first check easywdw crowd calendar to determine what days we go to MK in the first place. (And ?MK is never recommended on an EMH day). Then since we do parks 9 days, each kid got "their special day". For DDs we got a 8:05 BBB appt while DH and the boys walked around Mainstreet. She was done about 8:35. We walked around and got pictures in front of the castle with no one else in the background. Then we were able to go straight to the rope drop area by Enchanted Tales with Belle and be in the first group to go. It was aweomse because DD had just been made up like Belle so she was thrilled. Then we Little Mermaid ride and met Ariel, met the fairy godmother, evil step sisters, rode the carousel a few times, etc. we then did CRT for brunch at 10:30. It was filling enough to count as lunch and OMG was the food delicious. The only meal the entire time we didn't pick at and instead asked for seconds. Our kids even about licked the plates clean, lol! We did princess meet n greets another morning though since they were in the front of the park then.

It was the only requested meal this time by every single person in our family. Boys got swords, DD met princess, food was great and we were inside THE castle....what more could we want?!?!

So we are repeating for the most part....8:05 BBB, meeting princesses in fairy tale hall, 11am BOG lunch and then going to MNSSHP at night. Her hair easily lasted the entire day last time.

Something to also the about is that for 2 years in a row we have been able to carefully take out the crown and Mickey clips at night. Then as suggested by a fairy godmother in training I wrap my daughters hair in toilet paper at night. With a little water for fly always in the morning and carefully putting back in they accessories we have princess hair for days. In November we got 5 days!!
So we have now adjusted our BBB reservations to just be anytime on the first day of arrival and the we get to enjoy our princess everyday. Of outburst now she brings multiple princess costumes and is someone different each day!

This is sort of unrelated, but do you use your meal plan for the meal at the castle?

Were you able to get your BBB appointment at 8:05 by calling them right at 7am 180 days out? I plan on getting online that morning at 6 to do dinning and then by 7 hopefully I'll be done and I can call BBB.

I just booked BBB for 8am on 9/17!! Thanks for the tips. We will head from there right to Fairytale Hall and meet all the princesses and then I can skip that for a FP+ later in the day! Brilliant idea to whoever suggested this!
