WHen are they going to release prices for the DVC at the Contemporary and any pictures of model rooms available yet?

Nobody who knows is talking, but I have heard and read speculation about mid-late August.

Original rumors had July pegged as the time for an announcement, however it has since been pushed back until August & now September/October seems to be the popular belief. I'm just hoping we can get some definitel word on it soon as the anticipation is crazy! Apparently Disney did not need the sales boost for this year so the thought with pushing it back a few months is that they can see the boost next year. Plus they still have plenty of units to sell @ AKV so really there is no need for them to rush until they feel the time is perfect.

:rolleyes1 waiting isn't one of my strong points :sad2:

I've been keeping the Disney Visa open so it's ready for the big day...
I really, really, really "need" an add-on :yay:

Disney also uses the fiscal year vs. Jan-Dec. Our guide told us that.

I've been waiting for this for 3 years but with the economy the way it is I am glad that they are waiting to announce it.

Hey I'm making 3% on my money right now!!!! I'll be able to buy 1 extra points the longer I wait:rotfl2:

I saw the building last week while riding the monorail, and I was shocked at how far along it was. The outside is almost finished! One thing I did notice was that it looked like a small building - I guess I expected it to be larger.

(Maybe if sales go well, they'll build one on the other side!)

Has anyone noticed the evergreen tree on top of the building? It is right next to the American flag.

I am surprised how far along the building is without any formal announcements.

We will keep waiting. I can just feel the need for some extra points!

The evergreen is there because they have "topped off" the building. It is a tradition in the construction industry to celebrate by adding a tree when the highest vertical point of a structure has been attained. It is a symbol that the project has proceeded well, without injury and is meant to be a good luck symbol to the occupants of the building. I see it as a good sign that we're that much closer to our newest DVC resort! (Unofficially!)

Maybe we have to wait until the Christmas lights go up on it before they start selling BLT! :santa:

Liesel...thanks for sharing that tidbit with your first DIS Board post! :thanks:

And here I thought that Stan the Ranger at WL had snuck it up there as a practical joke! :rotfl2:

Yes, thanks, Liesel. We were all wondering what the deal was with the tree. That must be a regional thing though, they certainly do not do that in MA. PS~ Ranger Stan!!!!LOL, Granny

I think the building is pretty big! I am still reserving judgement on whether or not it is attractive since it is not not completed. When we were there last week our guide called as she always does when we are 'home'. We were not in our room but she left a message and said no announcements yet! Well, no kidding, Judy!! I read the DISboards!;)

...everyone on these boards will let you know!

While we're on the subject...and it's a long
shot...has anyone seen pix of the interior?

That's interesting to hear that the tree ceremony isn't done in MA. Maybe its a southern thing. I'm in TX and we do it here.

Wisconsin does it also. When I was a kid always thought they were getting ready for Christmas.

It didn't look like they'd started on the interior yet, as of last week when we rode by. They were still putting up the exterior windows/walls on the upper floors.
