Bay Lake Tower refurb dates

Wow can't wait to see these in person! I have a 1-bedroom booked for June 2024 right after school ends for the kids, but now I want to book a studio too. Maybe even sooner than June. I wonder when these rooms will be available to stay in? They look like they're pretty close already. I wonder if Theme park view rooms will be finished by January or February?

Kind of interesting that this is supposed to be a full refurb versus the soft goods "refresh" that for example Beach Club got last year. It doesn't seem like there is a humongous difference between the two. Originally I thought full refurb meant that they replaced almost everything, down to the studs. Including maybe a layout change (the BLT Studios in particular have an unpopular layout with the kitchenette area being a galley style. But it seems like the major difference between what the BCV refresh and the BWV refurb is that they pulled out cabinets, thermostats, etc - but both got murphy beds. So just replacing more "stuff" in BWV versus BCV.

It makes the soft goods refresh seem more substantial, but the full refurb a little less substantial imho.

Either way, I'm really excited to see what the refurb BLT rooms are like!

The "soft goods" refurbs have replaced carpet/flooring, Murphy Beds, raising stationary beds (to have under bed storage. Probably a few other things as well. Full refurb adds in replacing kitchens, baths....

Thanks, I thought with the BCV soft goods refresh, the bathroom tiles and shower heads were replaced or maybe they just gave them a really good cleaning? Everything looked new after the refresh.

Weakace88 posted these on reddit.

Looks like the TV has finally lost the big black bezel around the screen.

Good News Murphy beds are showing.

Some may like this but I'm going to miss the chair as it looks like the dresser is the pull down under the TV.

Much easier to have DS watching a show before bed in the chair than these under the TV Setups.

Hopefully they will at least add a regular chair to go along with the sofa.

Thanks for posting! Is that a 1 BR? I have no sense of direction or architectural design. I think the first picture is the living room area of a 1 BR. Where is the 2nd picture?
I didn't take the pictures but from my stays in a 1 br I would say they are both 1 br pictures.

The first picture shows a microwave and lots of backsplash and cabinets which is not the current location of the studio kitchenettes.

In the second pic there is a door along the wall that leads to the shared balcony of the master.
The second pic appears to be the drop down twin bed. Seriously doubt they would be installing that in the studios without freeing up room from the walled off galley kitchen.

It could be either a 1 or 2 bedroom as they both have similar layouts in the living area.

Nooo, some of us actually love the separate kitchenette in the studios!! We’d be super disappointed if they changed that design. I personally (thankfully) think they won’t take it that far.

Excited nonetheless to see actual pics of the refurb progress! 😄

I like the kitchen set up that they have now. I really love the pull out pantry.

Yes I love it as well.

We have plenty of space to store our snacks. When we are over at BCV or BWV we seem to have to put everything on the counters as the cabinets are already full.

Above is the link (had to edit to put a space between the . & com for it show). Not sure if I can link to it or not. Mods please remove if not allowed.

Full disclosure I’m not a moderator here on the DVC Board, but it’s generally best to leave the URL of a third-party site as is and let the DIS filter do its thing. It’s the tinkering with an address to get around the filter that runs up against DIS guidelines. That said, I don’t think Reddit.com is a filtered site, so it should let you post the real link with no issue, to my understanding.

Just FYI!

They asked for the link and when I posted the link then it turned to a media thing showing the photos but not the link that is why the edit appears.

I’m actually the one that made the post on Reddit. I’m still there for another 3 days so I’ll post any other new discoveries I make. The photo taken was the rooms on the top floor on the inside portion of the tower facing the pool.
Thank you I just used the reddit name to give credit but didn't find that name when I tried the @ thing
