I requested an even number and as high a floor available. It’s a preferred or “Lake view”, but I’d be fine looking east of Tomorrowland or anything south, like towards WL & CFW, or anything between.
If granted, that request should get what you want. The even numbered Preferred (formerly Lake) views are on the outside of the curve, at the north or south ends. TP views are in the center. Our room number was xx08 or xx10, north end, and had a nice view of the marina where the ferry boats dock at night and of Space Mountain.
totally agree with what
@CarolynFH said. If you request "north tower" "even ## room" and "high floor" you may be abel to see all of that. We were in xx02 our first stay and on the maps it looks like a nothingburger view but - from the LR you had views of Bay Lake (it was fun to see all the watercraft in the morning making their way to their stations) and fireworks and Space Mountain with a little bit of a lean to the left.
@Chili327 , having followed your journey for SAP+ and the like, I am very curious to hear how you like BLT.
They are mostly walking around with iPads. It doesn’t surprise me as isn’t this what they did at Polynesian tower.
The went even more in that direction at Riviera when we were there in August. I quite enjoyed it, because I got to sit on a couch with the CM and the ipad, the kids could roam around (there were 8 of us) and it felt more special than standing in a line and waiting for a turn at a counter. Characters were visiting in the lobby, too. So the kids got to do that while I checked us in.
I have a life back home working in healthcare; I can't in good faith keep visiting theme parks with tons of local kids in places where vaccines for school are not even recommended, then coming back to work with immunosuppressed patients with recent organ transplants. That just wouldn't be right.
DH is a healthcare worker though he has less interaction with immunocompromised people than you do (sounds like). Depending on when you go, there may not be a ton of local kids when you're there. We tend to go late summer (most of the Southern schools are back in session), and parks are less crowded. Ditto for school break times, while the parks are more crowded, they're not crowded with locals. So there's that.
We also visited the parks a lot during covid - you can still wear a mask when in crowds, or indoors. we did it for a couple years and still have KN-95 masks in our owner's locker. And while I don't see a ton of people doing so these days, you still see some of the service workers wearing masks. (I don't know if you were visiting at all during covid, we avoided long lines indoors, crowds, and for a while only ate outdoors.)
Hi I’m hoping to stay for 4 nights next July in a one bed. My question is should I try and save enough points for theme park view or will preferred view be ok.
I’ve not stayed at any mk resorts before.
Should I try and request a specific room or area.
I have 2 teens aged 14&16, is this a good resort for them? As long as they can get chicken strips nearby they should be happy
Thanks
If you're booking at 7 mo - TP and Resort view usually go in the 7-11 mo window - and lake/preferred view is great. If you get a preferred high floor even ## room, you will have a sideways/oblique TP view. I like the north tower but once you're 5th floor and up, if you're an even # view you will be able to see MK over the parking lot. Odd # views are definitely quieter and more peaceful - they're on the inside of the C.
I've got an update on the phone charger left in our room that they emailed me about. I received it in the mail yesterday and the phone charger turned out to be an Apple MacBook MagSafe charger. It's not ours. It must have been left by a previous guest.
Years ago we filled out a report for my kid's lost hoodie. never got it back but we got a hoodie that was the right size and approximately the right color, which my kid wore as a substitute. oh well. (I picture someone shrugging their shoulders and going, "eh, it's a hoodie / charger that has an apple on it, close enough"
