I got lucky enough to get a one bedroom at BLT checking in on July 4 in a one bedroom standard room. Is there a certain request I should have?? I like to see water so are there any rooms that have partial lake views in the standard category? Also- is there a BLT adoration/lovers thread with all the info and photos?? Last question, can kids join you at the lounge on the top floor to watch the fireworks? Thanks so much!!! A little worried about BLT but I love being on the monorail and a one bedroom with two bathrooms will be awesome!!! :santa:

We had a dedicated 2 bedroom standard view and had a great view of bay lake. We were on the 1st floor all the way at the end facing the marina. The only issue with these rooms is the walkway right outside the rooms, but the foot traffic wasn't too bad. Maybe you could request to be on the outer part of the "C" facing the marina?

That link will take you to a site that has all kinds of pictures of BLT! I stayed in a one-bedroom standard view back in March w/ my parents and my cousin and I loved it! I can't give you any advice on room locations for views except to say that a room above 5th floor may be worth your while, but I can give you a short list of pros and cons from my experience there:

Pros:
2 Bathrooms
2 pull-out living room beds (one double, one single)
Flat-Screen TVs
It's hard to get a bad view
Monorail!!!
WALK to MK (takes 5 minutes)
The Lounge (not sure about age restrictions) Just make sure you have your DVC card and room key handy. You have to check in to get there from the lobby at the ground floor. They make you feel like a VIP the way they give you special access to the elevator and all.

Cons:
Everything is in the Contemporary main building (shops, food, mini-mart, etc), other than the lounge and pool, BLT only has rooms.
The Common area bathroom in your room has a sliding door that doesn't lock or seal around the edges (you can see in and out w/ the door shut from certain (albeit very thin) angles.

Yes, you can bring the kids to the lounge. We even had some drinks with kids around.

I believe they are in the process of installing locks on the sliding bathroom doors. We were 4 adults in a 1 bedroom lakeview (Rm. 8411). DW and I slept in the foldout couch and found it to be very comfortable. Great location. There were children at the TOWL the night we were there to see wishes. I hope you have a great stay at BLT; we sure did.
