Which resort has the best concierge rooms/service?

We have tried three: Poly, GF, and Yacht Club. Of these:

Food/Lounge: Poly wins HANDS DOWN! GF and YC have very skimpy offerings compared to the Polynesian!

Theming: Tie between YC and Poly

Concierge Service: Really all three resorts had great concierge service.

OVERALL: The Polynesian wins as the Iron Concierge!

I am so glad to hear that.I had a tough choice deciding this time but I picked the Poly.

I would say for a first time concierge experience and to get the most bang for your buck the Polynesian would be the strong winner. AKL would be second only because that type of resort might not appeal to everyone.:D

In terms of service the AKL wins hands down. There simply is no comparision. Also the AKL is the only concierge that offers something extra special, the Sunrise and Sunset safari's. We also really enjoyed the offerings there, especially the African Smooth :)

The Polynesian is wonderful with large rooms, and great amenities in the louge--the bottled water and sode are out for the taking. I believe they are also the only concierge with strollers for loan. I can't wait to see the refurbished building!

We really enjoyed the BWI concierge, it reminded us very much of a B&B type atmosphere.

We weren't knocked out by the YC, we didn't care fo the lounge at all, and the staff was not up to par with the three previously mentioned.

The GF, well, let me just say that if it were free I do'nt know that I'd go back. We were treated very rudely by the staff there. It was definitely NOT worth the money.

From what I have experienced and what I have read in trip reports I think AKL Concierge blows the others out of the water.

Now I understand that the theming at AKL does not appeal to everyone, others may prefer YC/BC, GF, Poly etc... but based on services, food, extras & lounge.. AKL rules

PS Anne.... cool to look at your house! Can't wait to see it finished, when is that expected?

Have tried the GF, YC, and AKL.

Our first stays were at the GF and they were magical. Then the AKL came along and our stays there were magical, too. While the GF remained my husband's favorite resort, mine became the AKL. But we will be at the GF very soon, and I must say that the service from the GF over these past few weeks has been incredible. I am so excited to be staying at the GF again.

Have a wonderful trip. We love the Grand. I know that it went thru some hard times for a period due to management, but now that new management has taken over we feel the Grand is truely back on the right track for the Grand resort it is.

We have had bad experiences at all Disney resorts at one time or another, but never quit going as things "do" change.

Have a Grand time!

For all of you concierge experts- My friends will be down in Disney staying at the Poly concierge. I woulld like to contact someone in concierge to arrange for a birthday gift (Pal Mickey). Does anyone have the e-mail or phone number for concierge- I think her name is Marilyn?? Thanks-Ellen:earsgirl:

I have tried the GF, CR and YC concierge. My choice is the GF, hands down ! I agree that their food offerings may be "less" than other resorts and they do not have bottled water to take to the park, but that is not important to me. I stay and pay for concierge to have the convience of the nearest building to the monorail. I also enjoy the following: listening to the Big Band in the evening, enjoying a light gourmet snack before dinner, wine and cordials after dinner, a glorious desert table in the evening and watching the fireworks from the lounge. The GF concierge is not for people who expect to make a meal from the lounge, it is however (in my view) a deluxe hotel with a super setting and glorious property.

Well, we have only tried the WL concierge, BUT we are unlikely to do concierge anywhere else and DH says that concierge is a MUST DO on our return trip to the WL....we had absolutley no complaints whatsoever. The food offerings, the service were all great. Some people have complained about there not being bottled water available. All we did was ask and it was given cheerfully along with some other beverages. As a matter of fact they got so used to us requesting choc milk for DS that they often offered to get it in the a.m. before it was requested and had some sent to room one evening when they "overheard" DS ask ME! They were more than accomodating any time we needed anything! I had made a few PS before arriving but wanted to leave a few spots open for lack of knowing exactly how the schedule would fall....they were able to get several PS for me without problem.....at the exact times (busy) I requested.

I couldn't recommend it enough if you want to make your stay just a little more special and pampered!

We have stayed at WL concierge and will never have it any other way. Mark / The Concierge Manager and ALL of his staff were the best at making sure that we were happy. Whatever it took, they did it and that goes for getting us beer or milk when it was already put away all the way to finding us the best priority seating times for places we were going to eat. They didn't just do the computer thing either. I saw lots of phone calls to see if they could make it happen.

Lots of food available as well.

I've stayed at Poly Lagoon View Concierge and Wildnerness Lodge Concierge.

Ditto on the Wildnerness Lodge Concierge. We loved our stay with them. The concierge staff was wonderful and always helpful. There was not only plenty of food, but it was food that DH, DS and I ate (our type of food).

I loved getting up in the morning having my breakfast on the 7th floor overlooking the lobby. Anyone that has stayed there will know exactly what I mean.

Evening was the same. It was nice to have a drink at night seeing the lobby "settle down" for the night.

One last thing that I thought was great.....getting the voicemail messages everynight letting us know the "goings on" in the parks the next day..including what park was early entry and the times.

We'll definately try to upgrade to concierge again (when the budget permits :) )

The Poly was not our taste. Chef Dick was wonderful, however the food that was available wasn't our taste. The cookies were great though :)

I also didn't find the staff helpful at all. We never received lei's, never was notified of them changing our PS's. Also, housekeeping was less to be desired. Example: I needed a new bedspread due to DS spilling juice all over. I notified housekeeping as well as the concierge staff. When we got back from a late night at the parks, the old spread was gone, but the new spread was just sitting on top of the bed. I was furious over the fact that I had to make my own bed.....OK, call me spoiled, but when I'm paying $400/night, they could make the bed. The next day, we moved to the Lodge...

Anyhow, that's my two cents....Wilderness Lodge all the way baby!!!

We stayed at Poly concierge in August/September. We just checked out YC concierge lounge and AKL concierge lounge 2-3 days ago while we were there.

I was disappointed to see YC concierge offering (breakfast time). Poly's food offering is much more plentifuly and the lounge is much nicer (we stayed at Tahiti, but I think Hawaii is even better).

We loved AKL concierge (breakfast time too). It looks great the food looks great too.

If I go back to stay concierge, I would do either Poly or AKL. Love the Poly location, but AKL lounge looks the best!!!

I have not stayed at the Poly concierge since they remodeled or moved it. I loved the room that the Poly concierge used to be in. It was such a relaxing room. I would rate it the best of the threee concierges that we have stayed at.

The AKL concierge is better than the GF. I am sorry but I was not impressed with the GF concierge offerings. Poly had better overall food but the Sunrise Safari is only available to AKL Concierge guests and that is the best tour at WDW and the AKL food offerings are still pretty good.

We've only had one Conc experience so far and that was YC in September. We had nothing to compare it to but we were satisfied with the foods and thought the staff very nice and tried to do anything they could to help us. One of the staff, Travis, went out of his way to find us a YC pin when I mentioned that we had found everything but. He had it sent same day from MK, put it in a card with Donalds picture and said it was a gift from Donald. A really nice touch!

We'll have AKL Conc. as a comparison in three weeks. I can't believe we're going back so soon but opportunity presented itself.

On AKL Conc, if anyone has been there recently did they have small water bottles you could take to the park? Need to know whether to pack by bottles or not.

Thanks, Sharon
