Do you buy a big pack of batteries for the trip or do you bring a couple sets of rechargables???

We bring our rechargables and charger for the camera. Also, when our memory stick gets full, you can have it transferred to a CD right at Disney if you want, it costs about $10 (and the CD is a Disney one, not a generic one). We have done this 3 times - at MK, DS and AK.

The lithium batteries last so long we get by on one set i the camera and one extra set.

Another tip--you can charge your batteries at every park. Bring your charger to be safe. Thye have a variety of charges, but do not always have one that fits your battery.

Two sets of rechargeables and my quick charger. I can just throw a set on the charger while showering in the morning or getting ready to go to sleep at night. Plus they last so long, I don't always have to charge a set every day either.

:sad2: I must be doing something wrong-my camera eats the batteries?? I constantly have to change them out?? Anyone else know what to do for this? Even the specific digital camera batteries.

The Lithium ones are what we use too! They cost more, but sure are worth it!

But our older camera eats the lithium ones......so it needs new ones often. Our new camera they seem to last forever!

You say the "specific digital camera batteries" are what you're using, but are they rechargeable? Some non-rechargeable batteries advertise themselves as "for digital cameras", and they do last a little longer than regular alkalines, but what will generally give you the longest period of use before needing replacements is the higher mAh rechargeable batteries. (Talking specifically about AA here.) The higher mAh rating, the more juice. I can usually go an entire day at Disney on one set, unless I use a lot of flash. Different cameras are different, so I always carry a spare set but rarely need them.

If your camera is still "eating the batteries" using these type, the batteries could be too old, too low rating for a high end camera, or else there could be a problem with the camera.

DH and I went on a cruise last February, and he never lets me live it down. He says, "you know how most people have a bar bill? We had a battery bill." lol. That's when one of our travelling companions told us about the lithium batteries. They cost a lot more than the regular ones (usually about 11 bucks for 4), but you would be amazed as to how much longer they last. Our new camera has the rechargable lithium ion battery. Much more cost effective. Buy the lithium, you won't be disappointed. :thumbsup2

The only thing you're doing wrong is using non-rechargable batteries. With alkaline (non-rechargable) batteries, even the "digital camera" ones, I swear they'd run out of juice after just 20 or 30 pictures. Go for a few sets of rechargables and you won't be disappointed.

My camera takes 2 AAs. I bought 3 pairs of rechargable AAs. One set is always in the camera, a freshly charged set is always in the camera bag, and another set is always sitting in a plugged -in charger, waiting to be called up to the show.

If your camera is running batteries down too quickly, see if you can change the way you view your pictures. Your camera probably has a viewfinder (EVF, ie. small window) as well as a larger LCD screen. In your camera settings, turn off the LCD screen, and just frame your pictures looking through the viewfinder. It saves battery life. A bonus is that you tend to hold the camera steadier as it is against your face, and steady camera=better focused picture. :goodvibes:

I've gone to rechargeables. Wal-Mart has a home/car charger that recharges 4 batteries in about two hours. It cost under $20, and batteries are about $6 for 4 AA.

Do you use rechargeables?
