Bathrooms

Newbie here...wondering about public restrooms at the park areas and downtown. Will be traveling with my 73-year-old father with some prostate trouble. He's very healthy, but you know how it is at that age! Anyway, wondering/worrying about the number of public restrooms, specifically in DTD where we'll be spending an entire afternoon and evening. ARE their public restrooms, or do you use those in restaurants/shops.

Also, what is the general state of restrooms in the parks? I HATE public restrooms - can actually use one without touching ANYTHING!

Yes there are public restrooms in DTD...and EVERYWHERE else on WDW property.
And they are all VERY CLEAN!

I agree, there's a lot of restrooms and they are almost always clean. We did run into a problem with the one in Norway that was just awful, but that was a first in about 13 visits, and who knows how many restroom stops!!! Grab a map at each park and you can see that they are never far away from where you are...

There is only one 'public' restroom at Downtown Disney Marketplace, with other restrooms available inside the restaurants. It's centrally located so he should be ok if he's got about 5 minutes 'advance warning'.

Actually I can think of at least two more in DTD: One in the World of Disney, another adjacent to the Christmas Shop.
