Bathrobe and slippers

Well then we are probably not comparing apples to apples. Heavy winter boots with salt on are not worn in my house. Yup to the proper place - front hall closet for outerwear like coats and shoes.

I'm not comparing anything. I was talking about shoes in the house. IMO, winter boots would be treated differently than regular everyday shoes.

I hate going barefoot in the house so I always wear slippers. To me, wearing regular shoes in the house is like wearing a coat in the house. My entire family takes their shoes off as soon as they come in and either goes barefoot or puts on soft comfy slippers. I wear a robe out of the shower or when I'm cold.

No robe, slippers or socks for winter, otherwise barefoot in summer. No one in house allowed to use shoes in house either.
