Just walked in the door from an interesting day at DLR. It was Bat Days! Everywhere were people of all sorts dressed in Gothic attire. I mean Extreme-Goth! Black lace, spiderweb stockings, every color of hair and haircut! Very interesting!
I talked to one of them and she said they usually hold their Bat Days in August but it was just too hot to wear all black. They were also getting the Haunted Mansion all to themselves this evening for photos.
My autistic son kept telling them "Halloween over."
But it was good to see that Disneyland is loved by a lot of different people..for sure!!!!:thumbsup2

I love the Gothic look. When that event will be held during a time that the Haunted Mansion is not closed, nor changed for hmh, I definitely would like to attend. I have a cool wig, which I might or might not wear, black fish nets that are the sturdiest that I have ever worn before, I swear I could get into a fight wearing those, and they would still be in great shape. he he ;) Seriously......... my wardrobe also consists of black bat winged shoes, ( Style of heel) cool spider web purse, another purse that is in the shape of a small coffin, they are all by Demonia/Pleaser. Also have black lip stick of course, as well as a really awesome long black with a dark red rose at the crown, veil. I don't think that I would wear that there, because it can make one's facial hot, etc. I do need a black parasol, only have one in red. Clothing wise, I do not have too much right now, but do have more than one very nice black skirt, and a black goth like costume, looks like a shroud or cool gown. The sleeves ripped though, apparently they could not handle the dancing from the last time that I wore it, oh well. So they need to be either mended, if possible, or replaced. Then I have this beautiful black with netting costume, which is called The Raven, I should be able to fit into it now, but alas still do not, oh well. My plan is to be able to finally fit into it properly for next October. Also have these cool looking spider web arm covers, and a pair that is also black, no spider web design, but instead black laces that run up the arm, well until they begin to slide down your arm, from movement, I would love to find a longer pair, in order to take care of that. One of my most favorite lines of jewelry is by Alchemy Gothic, in England. Am very much looking forward to adding to my very small collection. The two necklaces that I have so far, is Elvira's Tryst, and The Emerald Venom Spider, they are both gorgeous pieces, especially the latter. And I also have some nice spider and also skull jewelry. :) I also love tiaras, so there are several of those in my collection as well.

So what is your collection like?

Forgot to add that also in my arsenal are black roses, and beautiful dead roses too.

Marcie, that's so cute that your son kept telling them that Halloween was over. :) I kept wanting to say that on Nov 1, when I was out in downtown San Diego and everyone was still dressed up! :rotfl:

Gisele, you shouldn't let HM stop you from going, if you like dressing Goth. It's always been during the hot times, but this year they put it later for heat reasons so I heard... And I have to tell you...I tried HMH again this time (remember I've never seen or wanted to see the movie) and it wasn't as ghastly as I thought it was the first time I went. I know I know, blasphemy to you (and to what I thought I felt about it). :upsidedow But this time I realized I *could* see the breathing doors in the hallway, could see the creepy shadow hand thing, and so on and so forth. NOT a fan still of the dining room, but the dudes are still having their duel despite all the stuff. Could not hear the beating heart, and there was no bride which was a bummer (love that beating heart), but I won't avoid it purposely anymore (I won't schedule trips FOR it either, of course) now. Just my thoughts; I know you are a serious hard-liner against HMH!

its my favorite day to go to disney!

i wore my black vans shoes with pumpkins on them, and the guy working the tram said halloween is over, and i should have turkey's on them. I told him no way, who says pumpkins can only be worn on halloween?

hmh...... :faint: he he........Seriously.......... Headline from Disneyland Park: a park guest today, took ill apparently, all of a sudden, while just looking at the hmh. That makes for the third guest this week. ;) he he! :)

darrendman,

You tell em'. Matter of fact, I shop for Halloween over the course of the year. Does not matter if it is January, or July. :)

I went today, not for Bat Days but to celebrate my b-day. it was great! the weather was good, it was a little crowded but not bad. Made for some great people watching. I had a b-day button on and I think I got more happy birthday from the goth people than CM's. They were all pretty cool. No reason for them not to be, but I thought it was neat.

Ah....... :flower3: how nice! Happy Birthday! I am glad that you had a magical day! :)

I was there too for a few hours! Disneyland was more crowded early on in various places throughout the park than usual. It was a very interesting day for people watching! I'm not sure how ppl enjoy the park in all black formal 3 pc suit or a formal black gown... but part of what makes the Park magical is everyone finds their own!

.Happy Birthday Mr.Bungle.

I love people watching any time. My son was just so funny cuz he is really obsessive about keeping holidays in order. We're not allowed to talk about Christmas yet cuz "turkey day next". So it was pretty funny that he kept saying "Halloween over, turkey day next"
In HMH, in the present room with the snake, as you are going into the cemetary, to your extreme left, there is a monkey dressed as a bride with a beating heart.
I love finding new things in there and the fact that we get it and WDW doesn't cuz we're better. Neener neener.:woohoo:
I wish I would've known about bats day, maybe my daughter and I would've worn what we have. Oh well...next year I'll watch for it.

I was there Sunday and I have to say it was a bit too crowded for my taste. DBF and I were there from about 5-10pm and we only rode TSM, Buzz, and Star tours.

Oh well, we'll be going back next weekend! =)

Mr. Bungle Happy Birthday!

It was actually extra crowded too because of the holiday weekend. But that is the reason they chose this weekend, they always try and plan the event for the dates with the longest hours. Next year it will move to May, they hope to continue a Spring holiday from here on in, since we all whined too much in August hahah!

All that said we had a great time! Yes, we were all gusied up (actually its is fun to go to the park dressed over the top sometimes :rotfl: ), I had my LGMH in my hair but no Dis members found me. Over all most of the crowd was very nice, sadly a few people did have issues with people being rude to them and saying nasty things. But we were lucky, most people just chatted us up ask what was going on and seemed to have fun with the people watching.

I love that the CM's all had such nice things to say to us and I am thrilled that some of my custom hats and Mickey Ears showed up in the parks!

BTW- I thought they got rid of the Heart Beat in the Attic? Can I add I hate the new bride. I love the attic, hate the Bride.

Although I do like the new bride, as well as the other changes to the Attic, I am quite rather a purist. As a result, I would have preferred that these new changes not take place.

I think some of the rides work with the changes and some should never change but no one ever agrees about what to keep and what to change. I hope they will fix the quality of the Bride if they are leaving her or will bring my old bride back (haha yeah right ;) ) But some of the effects like the Leota Floating are just so cool! And I think the HMH is so fun!

It was a huge deal to all the Goths to finally get a HMH Bat's Day! In fact such a hit we waited FOREVER in line I believe about two hours :scared1: But that is one of the biggest deals on the night to go to the head count, get your picture taken and ride the Manison!
