bassinets

hi there again with another question lolol

we have to pre book a bassinet / carseat for my youngest son who will be 14mths when we fly out.
i've never flew with kids so how does this bassinet thing work
sorry if its a stupid question

Who are you flying with? We are using the infant care chair with VA.

we are flying with ba we haven't bought a seat on the plane for him
but were told to book a bassinet.

I have never used the bassinet with BA but a friend has and she said they are great. She also said that the staff were very helpful on the flight.
