Basic SW question--I can't remember!

If I book a flight today on SW and then need to cancel or change it, I have one year from today (so 8/28/13) to USE any new ticket purchased with the funds from the cancellation. . .is that right?

I know this is basic, I'm just not feeling sure!

yes, you are correct, you have 1 year from today.

For example, we booked airfare on 2/23/12 for a trip we took in June, and then re-booked it with the St. Patty's day sale for a lower fare, giving us about $100 each in credits. Those credits expire on 2/23/13, so i have to use them for a flight before that date - i don't have until 2/23/13 to book a new flight for a date beyond that point. Those credits are paying for our trip in November for our wedding, so we're good, but you're thinking correctly.

Note also that the credits must be used by the person named on the original ticket(s) and are not transferrable.

Just to add, travel must be completed within that year. IE, book today, cancel and you must complete all travel by 8/28/13
