Today could be the last game this year...
:(
Hope something gets settled....
But then if it doesn't i don't care either, the Reds are done for the year..but it would be the last game at Cinergy(Riverfront) Stadium..

My opinion...

If they strike, they're shooting themselves in the foot, and baseball will suffer for many years to come...

It is hard to feel much sympathy for people that make more money than I will ever see. We did go to an Orioles game Saturday to make sure we saw one before the season ended. I really don't care what they do. (spoiled brats.)

Just one word! BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Big deal. Go ahead and strike. I have little sympathy for ball players who make as much in one game as I do in a year, and then have the nerve to complain. Give me a break.

Forget the majors. If you want to see real baseball, go watch your kids play. Or better yet, join in and play with them.

I really hope they can resolve it because my 8 yo DS will be heartbroken. He really doesn't understand why they are threatening to strike except that it's about the money. He really summed it up to my DH and I the other night when he said "Why can't they just play for fun like we do? Don't they know they have like the best job in the whole world?"

DH and DS did get to 2 Red Sox games this season and DS is so into the game. If he's not playing, he's watching and if he's not watching, he's talking about it.

I try to keep my petty comments to myself when DS is around, but I just wish these cry baby players and owners would just quite their crying and resolve this issue. There isn't a player out there worth what they're getting paid. IMHO!

I think it's silly that they'd want to strike. They're acting like spoiled brats.

I watch sports but baseball is boring, I hope they strike then. I still think they will some how work something out by tomorrow.

I don't think baseball will survive another strike. But maybe what baseball needs is to end completely and then start up again with players who love to play the game so much that the money is an afterthought. Like TC said... a ballplayer shouldn't make more in one game than a man who works hard for a year. I watched Field of Dreams last night and I loved the line where Shoeless Joe said, "I would have played for food money." Baseball needs more of those players, but they'll never find them unless they have to start over.

I haven't recovered from the last strike. I don't think I have been to a game since then and I still can't stand Tom Glavine even though I live in metro Atlanta.

If they strike this time I really don't think I'll watch another game (unless of course the CUBS ever make it to the World Series). Oh well... as I said I don't think I'll ever watch another game.

I have a hard time understanding the pay scale Baseball players are on compared to football, basketball and hockey.

Personally I hope they do strike, then the guys
who don't make a trillon dollars a year will have
to go and get a "real" job like the rest of us.

I think the whole thing is crazy! A bunch of whiny millionaires who want the fans to feel sorry for them because they don't make enough and don't want to be tested for steroids. :(

I don't feel sorry for anyone involved except for the fans - especially the younger kids that love the game.

Lanshark, I agree with YOU. After the last strike, I just got turned off to baseball. Then came Mark McGwire and my faith in baseball was returning. NOW they are going to strike again!! Also to top it off the St. Louis Cardinals want a new stadium (which OK I am for) but the voters turned it down so NOW they are threatening to go to Illinois. WELL if they do that I will never watch a game again.
Illinois Cardinals, nope...not for me.

Football & Nascar looks better every year.

It appears to me that MLB could learn a thing or two from the NFL and the way they run things. I've had very little interest since the last strike so...whatever. Besides, it's football season. :)

AAARRRRGGGHHH!
The Oakland A's are doing so well right now! DH & I will go to a game this weekend if they're not on strike.
It's tough living in the Bay Area and being fans of both the A's and the Giants. Been to a few Giants games this season - what a beautiful ballpark!

I wouldn't care if they never played again, but I do feel sorry for all the people that are depending on the revenue the games generate for their own livelihoods. i.e. vendors, hotel employees etc. Those people are not making millions in the first place and will surely suffer.

What I can't understand is why fans have been putting up with baseball all along. IF they don't strike, we'll still be left with overpaid players on mismanaged teams. Tickets and concessions will still cost a small fortune.

I gave up on baseball years ago--I HAVE gone to some games when I have received free tickets, but there is no way I am paying for tickets.

I feel sorry for the stadium workers, hotel and restaurant employees, etc., who could lose out on some income if the players strike. I'm sure many of them will lose out on wages and tips.....
