It was dream school for awhile, but then I noticed that I'd be close to family and wasn't so fond (I want to travel far and wide). Though I still wanted to go there. Then the Disney trip came along and I wanted to go to a school near Disney, so Stanford is my dream school now (its in California near DL)

The Hunger Games takes place in North Carolina (and Virgina). The main characters are from District 12 which, as they hint to, is in the Appalachin Mountains. And they're known for coal. Coal is mainly mined in Virgina, but it is also in North Carolina.

Thus, The Hunger Games takes place (mainly, besides when they go to the arena) in NC/VA.
