Baseball Games?

This is slightly off topic. Has anyone ever tried to attend a Marlins or Devil Rays game while visiting WDW? How was the drive? Neither of these teams is as awesome as the Twins but it might be a fun side trip.

We actually did a D-Rays game just before our visit to WDW back in 2005. We drove down from NJ, and went to Tampa first. We bought tickets at the stadium on game day (they don't draw very well, so its easy to get tickets) and enjoyed the game.

We stayed in a nice hotel not far from the stadium on reward points and the next day, drove to Orlando. It took us about 70 minutes to get to WDW.

The Marlins play down in Miami, a much further drive I believe.

Hey, don't pick on our (*cough* worse team in the league) Devil Rays. Their games are a lot of fun, & the indoor stadium is very nice in the heat of summer. As the pp noted, the Marlins are really too far away for a day trip.

We are hopefully going to the Devil Rays game on July 19th. I have a college friend who works for them and she is supposed to be getting us tickets. I didn't tell her that it is actually the Anaheim Angels ( the team they are playing) that my boys want to see. Good to know that it is not that bad of a drive.

It takes just over an hour to the Devil Rays stadium and over 3 hours to the Marlins stadium.Actually to Tropicana field might be over 1.5 hours since it's in St.Pete, a bit further west!!!

Hello

We went to the rays in 2001 against the yankees. First we visit Bush Garden, after that we went to the Night Game to the Trop.

This Year we are going against the Red Sox on September 22nd . They Have Octoberfest at this Date.

Thats a must see for Someone from Germany

that will be a fun game to be at on sept 22 as there will be more sox fans then devil rays fans! hopefully by then the sox will have the AL East sewed up too!!
