Baseball Costumes out today!

I want to add some of my thoughts on this matter lol (let's just pretend they mean anything lol!) I think this is a virtual game with little virtual clothes that fit, or may not fit lol, little virtual avatars. The costumes JUST came out, we don't know what vmk has planned next. (For all we know, the girls could be getting a suit), but as of right now, there is a costume for both girls AND boys. When the dresses came out...where was there a boy costume?

Also, if someone doesn't like the idea of wearing a cheerleading costume (even though I wouldn't be caught dead on a cheerleading team *I just don't go for that whole "rah rah" deal lol* I still think the costume is cute and will wear it) he or she doesn't HAVE to wear it. Also if someone doesn't like vmk's ways of making THIS baseball costume only available to guys, he or she doesn't HAVE to play vmk at all.

This is just something new, and I don't know about anyone else, but I really needed something new in vmk to spice it back up! It was getting a little on the boring side.

I would also like to note that baseball is in fact considered a boy's sport. I know some of you would argue that you may or may not have participated in baseball, but technically, it doesn't count. Such as dresses. Dresses are a girl's thing but you will have the few boys that want to wear dresses just because. (Not to compare girls playing baseball to boys wearing dresses and not to imply anything with the boys wearing dresses) but I just think vmk is playing by the book and by the book, girls wear dresses and guys play baseball.

Now, it would be totally awesome to see vmk come out with a softball outfit! That way, the girls could wear the clothes to show their athletic side.

Just remember, what is not, may not be for always...who knows what vmk has planned (as I have said before). I think we should just accept what vmk has given us (yes, they GAVE us these costumes to buy and wear, we aren't forced) and not add to more internet stress. Isn't enough to dc just when you are getting to where or what you want!? I say, just let it be...

And can I just say - I fully get not having the sports outfits for girls if it is a football outfit. And THAT would make the cheer leader outfits logically too. And I think releasing the field, bases, and benches with the expection of costumes for all is a bit deceiving and unfair to those playing girl characters who spent lots of credits to get baseball stuff, but now cannot wear a baseball outfit in their own field.

Anyway, back to discussing the oversized - shoes.

Just my opinion, and no bashing intended, but if VMK was going by the book there would be no cheerleaders at all since they dont exist is baseball. Second of all if this is how it stays, and they purposely are giving the boys the baseball costumes and they dont plan on releasing them to the girls, I really wish they had not released the baseball room first. I bought the cheerleader outfit, it's cute, but I dont plan on running a ball game in my new room as a cheerleader, but if this is how it is, thats it, and I will do what I was doing before, make up my own uniform.

I dont think any of us women are upset or "jealous" about not getting the outfit.We are upset about the message it is sending to little girls about what they can and cant do, or what is obviously a sterotype in the game. Dont get me wrong, cheerleading is a highly athletic, demanding sport and more dangerous than most sports in general. Its just that moms want to raise their children to believe they can do whatever they want in life whether is be softball, cheerleading, construction work, fireman, pilot, or whatever they dream-and sterotypes like these work against it (and most of us women grew up fighting those sterotypes in our own childhoods). Also, not every girl is a girly girl, and not every boy likes sports.

I think we can all agree on one thing though- the boys do need more of their own stuff!

Ok again- this is not what the anger is about! It is NOT about boys getting a costume to themsleves- most of us agree boys need more costumes to themsleves,without a doubt, definitely, no question about it (can I be any more clear?).

Read through all the posts again. It is about teaching kids that they can be whatever they want to be, and play whatever sports they want to play, not genderizing baseball as a boys sport and cheerleading as a girl sport! It has nothing to do with jealousy or anything else. Nobody is calling vmk sexist because they gave boys a costume of their own, they are calling them that because of the fact that it is stereotypical and sending kids the wrong message. Thats it, no jealousy, no anger over boys getting something girls dont, no whining.

The only thing that I consider actually UNFAIR about it being boys only is the fact that many girls bought the room and everything that goes with it assuming the costumes would be released to both. i think you would agree that if you bought a baseball room and all the stuff in it and they only released the baseball costume to the girls, you would be pretty upset too and say it is unfair. But hey, whatever, I guess the boys are all so happy to have something the girls cant get there is a brain fog going around that is turning this into a jealousy issue which it is not.

I only see a baseball hat on the baseball player, with a black or blue bill on it (tron hats dont have bills), i dont see a tron hat. Where is it?
