To make things easier, I'll use the abbreviated "names" of the Ghostbusters like GIO for Guy in Orange.
GIO = Guy in Orange aka Kennedy
GICBH = Guy in Cowboy Hat aka Logan
GIR = Guy in red aka Danforth
GIG = Guy in green aka Zeddemore

Awoke at 5:00 AM...was expecting another half hour of sleep, but my parents decided not to tell me we would be getting up earlier than I was expecting. So I got less than 5 hours of sleep. My mom got less than 3. My dad was probably around the same as my mom (they were watching the Boston RedSox and Yankees game and dunno when that got over...not THAT late, but then they were packing everything we needed for the next day).
So, here we are, a bunch of overtired people going to Universal. This definitely proved to be an interesting car trip. We got to our exit off of I-4 at around...7:15 AM and right when we turned off the off-ramp towards the parking entrance, we see a car ahead of us with a Lee County plate.
I wonder...?
Well, my mom knew this guy's lane was ending and she cut him off (
) and we were now first in line to enter the parking area! We pulled up to one of the ticket windows to found they weren't open yet. The guy we just passed came right behind us.
So, a couple people come a bit later and we sit and wait. We listen to the radio some and talk about Universal and just find every little thing funny (remember, I said we were OVERTIRED).
My mom kept looking in her rear view mirror at the car behind us and asked me, "Clare, is that...Barry? Look! Is that Barry?" I told my mom I was NOT going to turn around to see who was in the car behind us because I thought it to be rude (after I said that my mom stopped, herself...lol). The thought that Barry was directly behind us just made things even crazier in our discussions.
Well, it was about 7:30 AM and we were still waiting. We then hear an employee tell someone else that they parking doesn't open until 8:00 AM!!! So we still had to wait another 30 minutes!! Aaargh!! Could have had that extra bit of sleep afterall!
The time finally came and we parked. The car that was behind us ended up parking next to us and we decided to "hang around" our car for a few minutes to see if this was, indeed, Barry. Well, it took him absolutely forever to walk away from his car. I think he was getting some video footage for his camcorder or something...not sure.
But eventually he came out and I see this really tall guy wearing a black Ghostbusters T-Shirt. It was Barry all right!! I said something to him and the four of us walked to IOA together.
We still had to wait an hour before the park opened. We used the time to take pictures and talk and plan our day.
After entering the park we went to the Hulk. My parents watched as Barry and I got on. We then made our way to Spiderman and then Dr. Doom. Of course my parents passed on Dr. Doom as well!!!
We then decided to go eat breakfast at Confisco's. Boy was this interesting (to say the least...lol)!!!
I had completely forgotten that the Confisco's Breakfast was a character breakfast and was reminded the hard way when the Grinch was going to steal my food at the buffet!
lol then the Grinch literally shoved my dad out of the way and pretended to grab various foods with his hands. Thinking that would be the end of it, I sat down at our table and soon my parents and Barry joined me. We began eating and the Grinch came back!! He really picked on my dad a lot. And soon the Cat in the Hat came in too and was trying to take some of my dad's food and my dad wouldn't let him!! The Cat in the Hat came over to where my mom and I were sitting and took my mom's napkin and rested it on his arm and was offering to take my mom's plate (which still had a LOT of her food on it...LOL!!! The Cat is hungry!). Then my mom asked if he was wanting a tip and the Cat got all excited. My mom just laughed and the Cat in the Hat walked over to the side of the table and started "entertaining" us with some dancing. After a bit he put out his hand and demanded a tip.
"Hold on!" my mom said and she reached into her pocket. The Cat put his hand out again impatiently. My mom gave him a quarter and he left.
We continued eating and a while later the Cat walked over and put the quarter on my dad's plate and left.
A while later there was no more Grinch and Cat in the Hat and soon Thing 1 and Thing 2 came in. Of course they came over to us. My dad teased that my mom and I could fill their parts because we are all the same height!! One of the characters started laughing!!! Anyway, at one point one of the Things took my neon yellow seat cushion and set it on a table behind us and tried to sit on it. The other one took it and put it on a chair. They took turns sitting on it!!!
OMG it was just too funny!!!
Barry and I went over to ride Dueling Dragons quickly before we went over to Universal Studios. See, the key word was QUICKLY. It ended up taking a bit longer than I anticipated...
First the lady made Barry put his things in a locker and we had the long queue line to walk through. We finally got up there and chose to go on Fire. A group was ahead of us in the line we chose. By the time they got back and it was time to load, turned out one of the persons in the group got sick and...yeah...
The employees cleaned it up and then had to let it dry before we could go on, so we had to wait for another run. We finally got on and it was awesome.
We met up with my parents after Barry got his things and we headed over to Universal Studios. The three of them were going so slowly that I just went ahead (had to make sure I got to the mic check in time. They aren't out there long and so it's easy to miss it).
Well, they got there and I realized DM called me (sorry DM...you called at the wrong time...when I was walking towards the GB Show stage. My mind was set on getting there in time and nothing else. In otherwords, I didn't even notice my phone ring! lol). Well, the 4 of us were waiting and waiting and waiting. The guys got out there a bit later than usual just after we were about to give up. I recognized two of the guys (and they recognized me). Two guys were new (well, at least one was for sure). The guys that played Kennedy and Zeddemore were people I hadn't seen before. OMG the GIO was HYSTERICAL during the mic check!!! You know how the GIO always wears the Yankees baseball cap? Well he said "I just want to tell all of you RedSox fans..." then he started laughing and laughing. Laughed for a good few minutes too!! My mom, dad, and I started cracking up!!! My dad was rooting a little for the RedSox since they were the "underdog" but that was the only reason. But OMG what the GIO said was just too funny!!!
They left and my mom and I stayed at the show area as Barry and my dad went on Men in Black. My mom was going to leave but waiting for the show gets very boring and I wanted someone to talk to, so she stayed.
After the first show was over, I handed a business card I created for my website to GICBH3 (whom I see EVERY SINGLE trip...lol!!). He looks at it and said he'd check it out. He then handed it to GIR2 who looked at it. My parents and Barry left to go to see the Horror Makeup Show while I saved my spot. I hung around and the guys were leaving. GIR2 and GICBH3 were sitting on top of the car facing me and the GIR2 said, "You don't have any pictures of me on your website!!"
I replied, "Yes I do!!" And he said, "Yeah, barely!!"
We exchanged "You wanna start something?!" expressions and hand movements which caused the GIR2 and GICBH3 to laugh.
I saw the next show and then my parents, Barry, and I left to go see the Dark Marauder. Turned out the DM was on lunch break and an employee who was looking for him for us let us go in the Express line for a ride while we waited. By the time we got off, the DM was "found." Barry gave the DM something (I'll let Barry post the picture).
After we left, my parents and Barry decided to go on MIB again. Barry was going to have to leave soon because he wanted to miss most of the traffic when he headed over to Tampa...BUT...I was going to go to the next Ghostbusters Show and Barry decided he'd wait until after the next show to leave. So while they went on MIB, I saved my spot.
This time, the GIO was different...it was GIO1 (yep Selina! Your favorite!! lol). I got a picture with GIR2, GICBH3, and GIO1 who all recognized me (but I never got a picture with them...EVER!!). I handed GIR2 and GIO1 each a business card for my website and GIO1 complimented me on it.
Anyway, by then Barry had to leave and we said "bye" and got one last picture. After that the employee from Twister (who takes care of the crowds at the GB Show...that day, at least) offered to take me and my parents to Twister (noticed I was at every GB Show and probably thought I needed to actually do something else for a change...LOL) and he gave me and my parents VIP Express!! That was really, really cool!! After that I of course went back to my spot to see the last Ghostbusters Show of the day.
I didn't talk to the guys after the last show or anything (especially since I did at 2 or 3 of the other shows...don't want to become a pest). Then Kevin called me and we met up and he lent me his camcorder (which made it home in one piece, Kevin!! lol. We'll just have to figure out how we'll get it back to you later. Trip to Universal in November or December, perhaps?). I got a picture with him since I didn't last time and then he left to go to HHN and my parents and I left to get dinner on the way home.
So, the trip was great!If I left anything out, I'll post some replies, but I think that's pretty much it. Barry recorded a whole lot of the trip and so I hope he sends me a copy.
I got my pictures developed and realized I think I have another roll of film I still need to turn in! But anyway, I wasn't too happy with quite a few pictures...don't know why but some were a bit blurry or out of focus, etc. Maybe next time I'll try Manual Focus or something. That and I looked terrible in any of the pictures I was in...LOL.

Her dad followed directions very well and he had 3 plates! Two plates were enough for me!
Traffic was backed up at the Polk County-Oscela line and other places on I-4 and I-75. I got to Howl-O-Scream at 6:30 and I avoided a long line I saw from the top of Montu at 7:30.
